i walk downstairs and get in my car heading for the cafe i love feeling the cold air on my face as i drive so i roll the window down i blast music on the freeway today was the song scared by zendaya because i felt like i connect to it a lot i just want life to be better and i wanna be okay - Today so far has been okay i walk to the next table ready to take orders "hey im lyric i'll be your waitress for today what drinks can i get yall" i say looking up from the phone we use to take orders and my heart drops it's ashtyn with some new guy i've never seen in my life "ill just get a water" he says as i snap out of it nodding "uhh a coke is fine" she says looking away from me could my day get worse "got it" i say walking away to get their drinks i sigh shaking it off i walk back and hand it to them "ready to order" i ask kindly "how's billie" she asks "im sorry im talking about food orders" i say changing the subject "are you happy" she asks she seems genuine but why the fuck she care now "well since you wanna know so badly she left after everything and hasn't been back since and i've been struggling terribly...now nicole here will be helping you guys out" i say walking away trading with nicole i sigh and try to just calm down "hey table 17 needs orders" lily says "okay i got it" i say as i walk over to the table "hey welcome t-" are you fucking kidding me i see billie with some girl and idk if they're dating or not but i don't know how to feel i haven't seen her since that night unless it really was me seeing shit she looked at me as i looked down at the phone clearing my throat feeling myself wanting to cry "sorry umm what can i get you guys" i ask "can i get a ultimate burger add bacon" she asks as i nod and wait for billie to talk but look up to find her just staring in shock "b....billie" her ...company... says "babe" she says and that's when i bite the inside of my cheek looking back down billie looks over at the girl and then the menu "oh uh ill just get avocado toast" she orders as i just write it down "it'll be out soon" i say walking away quickly "what was that about" i hear her girlfriend ask giggling "nothing i just know her from somewhere" billie says i put in the order and just collapse in the bathroom of course today is the day hell breaks loose and my heart breaks she moved on and that hurts the worst i walk out of the bathroom "can i please go early im having a rough day" i ask as she lets me off for the day i grab my stuff and walk for the door and towards my car im so over life it's just one hit after another i get in my car and pull out making eye contact with billie one more time before pulling off
