One and a half year later ,

Lazily dragging her feet , Nandini entered her room. Usually her office hours were till five in the evening but since her extremely ‘khadoos’ boss had burdened her with excess work load , she came back home past eight.

Tying her hair up in a messy bun , she walked in the washroom to freshen up , muttering harmless curses to her boss.

Her Amma and Amms were out to attend her cousin sister’s baby shower whereas Rishab was out too , playing cricket with his friends. He had his 12th boards in about six months but taking advantage of the fact that their mother wasn’t at home and his sister would never say No to his cute faces , he had convinced Nandini to let him play for a little longer than usual. Though in return he had to promise her that he will compensate by studying on Sunday.

Folding her work clothes neatly , she kept them back in the cupboard and wondered what she could do to pass her time , knowing Rishab won’t be back for another half an hour.

“Dinner is ready and I don’t even have any office work. Kya karu?” , she pouted.

Her phone pinged grabbing her attention and picked it up to see a mail from her office.

“Aiyyappa , yeh itna khadoos boss mujhe hi kyu mila?” , she complained , as her boss had loaded her with the responsibility of another project.

Sighing , she sat down on the bed and opened her Instagram as she was too tired to start working for the project immediately.

A smile made way on her lips as she saw the post that had popped up first.

the_manikmalhotra Dear Music, thank you for clearing my head, healing my heart and lifting my spirits.

Hitting the like button , she caressed the picture as a tear slipped from her eye.

“Nandini Di!”

She kept her phone aside and walked out to see one of the boys who lived in the building standing there.

“Kya hua , Arun? Is Rishu okay?” , she asked.

“Di , actually Rishab asked me to call you on terrace. Aap jao na udhar.” , Arun replied nervously.

“Terrace? Why?” , Nandini frowned.

“I don’t know , Di.” , Arun said.

“Okay. I will go and see.” , Nandini said , patting Arun’s cheeks lovingly.

Taking her phone , she walked out to go on the terrace after locking the door.

On the terrace ,

“Rishu!” , Nandini shouted , searching for her baby brother.
