I managed to make it all the way down the driveway before I had to take off my shoes. The black heels where killing my feet and making me all unstable. I discarded my heels in the mailbox hoping I would remember them later. I couldn't possibly imagine what I currently looked like. Some random red headed girl, in a black dress with no shoes on, walking downs the street. The most amazing sight to see.

I took my time walking down the road. I spent my high school years in this neighborhood. I kept telling my mind to stop thinking of everything that had happened in those years but it was no use. I knew coming back would also mean facing my problems. The worst problem was the day I met him. It was the start of all my other problems, a blue eyed chain reaction.

I was in the library getting a book for school. I was searching the thriller section vigorously until my eyes met one black book. I reached for it and pulled it off the wooden shelf. When it was finally out something on the other side caught my eye. Pair of bright blue eyes was watching me through the shelf. I gave the strange boy a weak smile as I pulled my attention back to the book. After scanning the inside cover and deciding that it was nothing special and I put it back. When I lifted my gaze I saw the bright blue eye boy leaning against the bookshelf.

"I like your glasses." He said pointing to the glasses on my face. They where big and light purple, they fit my face quite well making my green eyes and red hair really stand out.

"Thanks." I said not really sure how to respond.

"What you looking for?" he asked.

"A book." I said looking around pointing out that we were in a bookstore.

"What kind of book?" he said very interested.

"An action or thriller, maybe a scary story." I responded. He had a surprised look on his face for a second but quickly covered it up. The boys eyes still portrayed the surprise. "You thought I was going to say romance didn't you?"

"I did not." He said acting offended.

"You totally did! Your eyes gave it away." I said with a slight smile at the silly boy.

"Oh yeah what else do my eyes give away?" He mocked.

"That you're a trouble maker." I smirked at him.

"And how do you know that?" he smirked right back.

"As a fellow trouble maker I should know how to spot one." I said in a matter of fact tone. The strange boy stopped leaning up against the shelf and held out his hand.

"Kellin." He said with a smile.

"Kate." I returned the smile shaking his hand.

"Are you new around here?" He asked.

"Yeah, just moved here." I said.

"It seems like we are getting a lot of new people around here. I just got new neighbors." He said with another charming smile.

"Cool." I said glad that I wasn't the only new person in town.

"What school are you going to?" Kellin said curious.

"Hilton high. I'm going to be a freshmen." I said hoping that he would have the same answer. I wanted to see more of this strange boy.

"Same here, I guess I will see you around Kate." He said with a smile and began to walk away.

"I hope so." I mumbled to myself as I watched him leave. He really was a strange boy with a hint of trouble to him, my favorite kind.

Even from the way beginning Kellin could easily catch my attention. I focused more on the pond coming up in the distance then the feeling that memory left behind. I had a lot of moments like that in this town; they were some of he best and worst moments of my life. When I thought of them it brought a smile to my lips and tears to my eyes.
