Jadis sat upon her ice throne. She finally conquered Narnia without Aslan to defend it. She's now the rightful queen, not those children of Adam and Eve who Aslan put upon the throne. Jadis is the queen in her own right, first of Charn, and now Narnia and her rule begin as all the creatures will bow down to her, they must, or they'll die. It doesn't stop that blasted prophecy from creeping into her mind.

Wrong will be right when Aslan comes into sight,

At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,

When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,

And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.

When Adam's flesh and Adam's bone,

Sits at Cair Paravel in throne,

The evil time will be over and done.

Not that she's worried. She's the rightful queen of Narnia; all she must do to protect her throne and rule. The creatures of Narnia will never turn against her, not after they saw her power plunging the world into an eternal winter. They will turn every child of Adam to her. No human will dare step foot in this world for long, not whilst she's on the throne. Well, perhaps all but one. Jadis grins, the specks of a plan forming in her mind.

Helen Pevensie collapsed back into the maternity hospital bed; exhaustion filled her bones whilst her newborn baby screamed the room down.

'They have a healthy pair of lungs, ' Helen thought, smiling as her midwives cleaned up her child before placing them into her arms. Her child, her baby boy, had a mop of brown hair and dark brown eyes. He's perfect, just like his older siblings, Peter and Susan. Helen couldn't wait to introduce her older children to their new brother.

"Have you and your husband thought of a name?" the midwife asked. Helen smiled.

"Yes, James. James Pevensie." Her little James will be a heartbreaker; Helen could already see it. Carefully, Helen passes her son back to the midwife. After giving birth, she hardly has any energy left to stay awake. Soon her husband will be here along with their children, and they can be a proper little family.

Helen awoke to shout. Her husband's booming voice was easily recognisable.

"Where is he? Where is my son?" her husband said. Helen opened her eyes to see her husband standing at the bottom of her bed with Peter and Susan beside him.

"We're not sure when we left your wife to rest. We left your baby in the cot beside her bed." Frowning, Helen pushed herself up onto her arms, her eyes staring at the cot by her, the empty cot beside her. Panic filled her as she realised what was happening. Someone had taken her baby.

Jadis smiled down at the sleeping babe. This child will do perfectly, her little prince who will serve her cause, and should that wretched prophecy ever come true, then her baby, her prince, will bring her back to life. They will rule this icy world together for the rest of eternity.

"Hello, Edmund."
