~ Unmasked ~

I blinked, swallowed
Let out a sigh

I don't understand
How'd I come down from that high?

I swore that I saw him
Standing right there

How does that work?
I can't see him anywhere

I lifted my fingers
Touched my lips

Not understanding this puzzle
None of the pieces fit

But then, there he was
The one that I knew

Walking away
Taking my heart heart with him, too

Why is he leaving?
It's not making sense

Was I not what he wanted?
Was it all a pretence?

But then, he was gone
My questions unasked

I had hoped for this one
And even I was unmasked.
