Monty is not innocent, here is why

I also believe in this theory, so here is something from BlueBird153

It would make more narrative sense if Vanny offered Monty the ability to "move up" in the world, so to speak, by helping get rid of the two animatronics who would not cooperate with her: Bonnie and Freddy.

It's odd to me that, out of all of them, Monty is the one who benefits from the disappearances or disposal of other characters. I also just don't see why, out of all places, it would happen in gator golf if Monty didn't do it, especially when the game points out how aggressive, reclusive, and destructive Monty is.

This is the concept of Chekov's gun. "Chekhov's gun is a dramatic principle that suggests that details within a story or play will contribute to the overall narrative.

This encourages writers to not make false promises in their narrative by including extemporaneous details that will not ultimately pay off by the last act, chapter, or conclusion." In other words, if you show a gun inside a drawer, that's pulled open within the movie,

you HAVE to bring it up again, usually in that same movie! Set up Monty as destructive and dangerous, with a volcanic temper + The only animatronic not in-game and missing, going into Monty's gator golf at late hours. = Monty entering the band as a bass player. Bonnie's exact role. (And in the mini-golf course: Monty is shown performing on stage with Freddy in the dumpster.

It's odd that Monty would have this in his game at Gator Golf when off-handedly Vannessa mentioned to Freddy that he'd be replaced by Monty. Monty's Gator Golf game would make more sense to be from Monty's perspective because there is no clear indicator or setup that Vannessa's perspective is here.

It looked more like Monty celebrating, more than anything. The fall of the only star he couldn't out-perform.) (Oh, I also forgot to mention. Monty most likely resided in Gator Golf because it's only after Bonnie disappeared that he got a green room. Again, a set-up that Monty was most likely inside Gator Golf and if he wasn't, there's no evidence to suggest otherwise. It's midnight and according to in-game universe logic,

the animatronics are not supposed to roam around at night, they must stay in their respective areas. Gregory's case was an exception because there was a child after-hours inside of the pizzaplex.) If there's a possibility something else happened, the story did not set that up well, and I can't really be strongly swayed by something that's just not there.

If the Vanny theory were correct, I'd at the very least want some indicator that she, or even acknowledgment of a strange staff-bot she was commanding in Gator Golf being captured on camera going to gator golf around the same time. The Chekov's gun rule applies to Monty being culpable. There are too many leaps and bounds between logic and game setup in theories of Monty not being involved for me to feel otherwise.

I may believe otherwise, if there's proper set up, for it in the DLC.
