_________________"It's broken..." Your voice was meek, tone just below a whisper as you held the now splintered and fragmented mobility cane that lay at your feet.
Naruto's head dropped; face contorted in guilt as he watched your hands reach down at an attempt to gather the plexiglass fragments in your palms. "I-I'm sorry (Y/n)." He whispered out softly. Your head lifted towards the sound of his voice, the white line of your vision catching sight of the tears that threatened to spill form his vibrant ocean hues even though you couldn't see the unique pigments of colors. But you so desperately wished to.
Brows pulled back you stood dusting your knees of any visibly grime. Waltzing towards the blond you placed a gentle hand atop of his shoulder, his gaze shifted, eyes locking with your own unseeing, chalky hues that stare lifelessly beyond him. The longer he gazed in those pearly glazed orbs the more warmth he saw.
Warmth he was so greedily deprived of over his twelve years of life, he was so used to being given the cold shoulder, and emotionless glares that burned gaping holes into his very being. The hurtful words and heart tearing slurs spat from the villagers that so happened to catch even the slightest glimpse of his figure.
But you.
Your dazed opal gaze gleamed of nothing but warmth, a warmth that he longed for, for so long and has finally found it. Your personality, eyes, and just your person held no such disgust and or hate towards him.
When he first encountered your sarcastic and snappy humor he was drawn to it like a fly drawn to a flame, you talked to him like he were a real person, not like some sort of bad omen that would haunt your soul kind till the end of time.
You laughed at his admittedly dry corny jokes, and dull humor; in general you looked happy. Happy around him.
His mind swam.
Maybe if you knew who he really was, or what he was.
He was a firm believer that you would turn your back to him quicker than he can down instant ramen. He felt somewhat disgusted in himself.
Felt as if he were taking advantage of your visual disability at a chance to finally making a friend. In all truth he thought after a while of you tagging along and using him as a guide when you grew tired of using your now broken and fragmented cane, that it had been some sort of twisted sadistic joke, a prank you had fallen victim to.
"Naruto? Did you hear me?" Your voice was soft laced with concern as it awoke him from the thoughts that ran marathons through his thick skull.
"Naruto" you said again tapping his cheek gently. Eyes blinking rapidly he faced you, attention no longer dissociated.
"There you are. I said it was okay, I have another one at home, this was just a spare an old one I've had for a while." You spoke again, Naruto nodded wordlessly, the feeling of guilt still strong in his system."Are you sure?" He puzzled as you nodded. "Yeah! It was bound to get broken eventually!" You chirped at an attempt to cheer the boy up.
"Man! I was scared that you would yell at me or something!" He chuckled nervously running a hand through his thick sun bleached locks. "Nah, it's not worth yelling about when I got another one at home." You hummed the warm smile again returning to your thinly lined lips.
Even though you were unable to see like others, butr you could still make out the glint of guilt that swirled within his (to what you can see) white lined hues.
