Y/N's POV

I wake up to yelling. Scrambling to my feet as quickly as possible, I try to figure out what's happening. I see Thomas point to something and follow his gaze; three bolts of lightning strike the ground not far in the distance. We need to go. I quickly start packing things into a bag, trying to wake the others. Grabbing Newt's shoulders, I shake him as I call his name. He stares and wakes up, allowing me to go back to packing bags. Once they are finished, I look at new, only to see him still sitting there, seemingly in a daze.

"Newt!" I yell, pointing to the storm. He looks to where I'm pointing as I tug on his arm. "Newt! We have to go!" I yell, pulling him to his feet. We run, following Thomas as he runs.

I look around, making sure we have everyone. Teresa, Aris, Fry, Minho. Wait. Where's Minho? Some of the others run past Newt and I. Letting go of his hand, I search for Minho. Nowhere to be seen. Hopefully he isn't still where we camped out. I decide to go back and check.

"Minho!" I yell, running to the camp. I see him on the ground, the storm quickly advancing. I run to him, shaking him harshly. He doesn't move. "Minho!" I yell again, slapping him. He wakes up, rubbing his face.

"Ow-"

"Let's go!" I pull him to his feet and we run, most of Minho's weight on me. We approach the building; most of the others already inside. Only Newt and Thomas remain outside. Newt looks like he is about to run and help when a loud crack sounds and a burst of light hits us, sending us sprawling in opposite directions. I feel a jolt run through me and I groan, rolling onto my back. My ears are ringing like crazy and I can't hear a single thing. Newt appears above me, frantically saying something. My eyebrows furrow and he pulls me up, draping my arm around his shoulder and we run inside. Thomas follows with an unconscious Minho. My ears slowly stop ringing and my hearing starts to return. I hear Newt ask if I'm alright as he lowers me to the floor but my mind is only set on Minho.

"Minho," I whisper. "Minho, you son of a Griever, you better wake up this shucking instant or so help me." I bang my fists on his chest then drop my head down onto it, tears pricking my eyes. I feel a hand pet my hair.

"That shuck lightning bolt messed my shucking hair up." Minho says. I look up to see his eyes are still closed but he has a slight scowl on his face. A hand closes around mine and I look down to see Minho's entwined with mine. He opens an eye and smiles at me. "Thanks." He laughs. "Were you crying? For me?"

"No. No, it was just the wind in my eyes mixed with exhaustion." I tell him, wiping my eyes. I get up, pulling him out o his feet. Turning to where Newt was, I am met with the face of one of the messed up human-like creatures. I scream and stumble backwards.

Two figures appear out of nowhere in a doorway of light.

"I see you met our guard dogs." One says, walking back through the door. "Well, come on. Jorge wants to meet you." In the light, I can tell this person is female. She keeps checking Thomas out, not caring if anyone notices. Teresa notices and steps in front of him. We try to ask questions it she won't respond. We enter another room where a young Hispanic man is seated.

"Ah, thank you Brenda." He exlaims. So the girl's name is Brenda. I'll have to remember that for later. I think to myself. "Now leave our new friends and I alone. I wish to speak to them." The girl, Brenda, leans over and whispers something into his ear. "She is? Well, we'll worry about that later. For now, just stand guard." Brenda and the others leave. The man, Jorge I presume, turns to us. "So, who are you people?" he asks. Thomas steps up as the rest of us shift our gazes away from the man. I look down and shift my weight from my good leg to bad leg and back to my good one.

Thomas explains our situation after introducing himself and a few others. When he finishes telling our story, he asks, "Who the shuck are you people?"

"WICKED you say? You'll make us quite a generous sum..." Jorge mutters to himself. He eyes is and quickly makes eye contact with me, sending a shiver down my spine. "Quite a fine little lady you got there in the back." He walks up to me. "And what might your name be?"

"Y/n." I reply, causing his eyes to light up. He smiles widely.

"Brenda!" he calls. She enters quickly. The two whisper urgently before she starts forcing my friends out of the room, leaving me behind.

"What-where are you taking them?" I reach for Newt's hand as they start pulling him away, grasping at his fingers. "Newt!"

"Y/n!" He struggles against their grip but nothing happens. One of the other men force me into a chair and tie my hands behind my back.

"Don't worry, your friends will be fine." Jorge assured, squatting down in front of me. "You and I just have some business to attend to." he tells me, rolling up my pant leg. "What happened here?" he asks, referring to the large scar on my shin.

"I broke my leg, getting out of the Maze." I explain. "WICKED diced it up at the next facility, when we thought they had saved us." Brenda checks over my leg, touching the scar and I flinch.

"Sorry. Does it hurt?"

"Only on the inside when I put too much pressure on it. Your hands are just cold." I chuckle slightly, still unsure of what is happening.

"No bite marks?" Jorge asks Brenda. She shakes her head.

"None."

"Untie her." As Brenda starts untying my hands, Jorge stands up. "Sorry about all the dramatics, we just had to be sure you weren't infected and that you wouldn't lash out at us." He pulls me to my feet and turns to Brenda.

"They'll be on their way. We have to go quickly." She says. "I'm sure one of the boys has already alerted them by now."

"You know what to do." She nods and leaves. Jorge goes over to another part of the room and I quickly follow. "You know how to fight?" he asks, rummaging through some drawers, pressing buttons. "You know how to use one of these?" I nod and he hands it to me. "Something big is about to go down and you need to be ready." I nod.

"It's WICKED, isn't it?" He nods, still pressing more buttons. "Why do they want me—us—so bad?"

"They say you are the key to finding a cure for this virus." He explains. We come in front of a window with a zip line-like thing. Jorge quickly passes me a part of the zip line. "Once you reach the bottom, let go and make your way out of the building. Once you get outside, head to the right. There, you will find a warehouse about half a block from there. Go in there and hide, okay?" he explains. "I'll meet you there with Brenda and your friends. Do not leave that warehouse under any circumstance, got it? I don't care if you hear a baby crying or explosions outside. You stay there until you see me or Brenda. Shoot or stab anyone else you see." he orders and I nod.

"I understand." I take the zip line and get ready to jump. Before I go I pause and look back at him. "Why are you helping us? I thought you said the Right Arm is a bunch of ghosts."

"I happen to believe in ghosts." he replies with a smile. "Good luck kid. Stay alive and stay safe. I'll see you soon." With that, he gives me a push and I am flying through the air.
