FlashbackMinjeong ran out of her class quickly before anyone could catch up to her. Ryujin was in a different building right now which left Minjeong alone and she wasn't a social butterfly.
"Hey where are you going orphan?"
"Want to come home with me? My parents could use an extra daughter!"
"Come on, we just wanna play!"
Minjeong ran out of the school gates before the group of kids could reach her. Her breath became ragged but that didn't stop her. She let her feet lead her to the one place she felt safe. Minutes pass and Minjeong was still sprinting but she couldn't hear the girls behind her anymore.
Eventually, she slowed down when she was nearing her destination. Finally, she caught her breath and walked past the fence, ignoring all of the signs that said 'No Trespassing'.
"Hey mom. Hey dad." Minjeong let out a breath of relief and plopped down in front of their graves. "I hope you're doing well. My day's been the same." Minjeong stared at the names on the grave and her eyes drifted to the dates. "Ma and pa said they'd start training me and Ryujinie soon. I'm kind of excited. Maybe I could use the skills to defend myself better." Minjeong bitterly laughed. "To be honest, high school hasn't been treating me any better than middle school. Ryu isn't with me as much throughout the day and these girls keep chasing-"
"There you are! You're a pretty fast runner orphan!" This time, Minjeong could associate the voice as one of her classmates, Chaeryeong.
Minjeong froze at the voice and turned around with a panicked face.
"P-please. I didn't do anything to you guys. Why are you doing this?" Minjeong pleaded as the three girls smirked and approached the girl.
"We just want to make our high school years memorable. You should be thanking us, we're making your boring, lonely life entertaining." Aeri, a girl one year older than Minjeong, laughed.
Jisu, another upperclassman, grabbed Minjeong's arm. "Now get up. Let's go have some more fun elsewhere. This place is giving me the creeps."
The three girls grabbed Minjeong's body and dragged her out of the cemetery. Minjeong struggled in their grips and cried as she looked back at her parents' graves.
She felt her body get shoved against a wall and a kick was delivered to her stomach. Minjeong groaned and clutched her mid region. But another kick to the face almost straight knocked her out. Aeri grabbed her collar and punched Minjeong's face relentlessly. Blood dripped down of the side of Minjeong's head and half her face was swollen. She was unrecognizable.
Minjeong thought she was going to black out until-
"Hey! Get away from her!"
An angel, in Minjeong's eyes, ran up to her with worried eyes.
"Hello?!? Can you hear me?!? I'm calling for help so just hold on a bit longer okay?!?" Jimin was about to call for an ambulance, but Minjeong's hand stopped her.
"I'm fine." Minjeong hoarsely said and got up with Jimin's assistance.
"Are you sure? I can call-"
"Really. I'm okay. Thank you." Minjeong was about to walk away, but Jimin caught her wrist.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To clean myself up." Minjeong simply said and tried not to blush under Jimin's gaze. Jimin laughed before shaking her head and grabbing Minjeong's wrist. "Where are we going?"
