Secret Admirer

Hester had never had a valentine before, let alone a 'secret admirer.'  So why in the world would there be a note with a black rose attached to it in her bag?

She roughly stuffed the piece of paper inside her pocket and made a mental note to throw it away later.

"What was that?"  A tired voice called out from behind her.

"A note from my 'secret admirer, ' " The red haired witch replied, not bothering to turn around.

"It's probably a prank." Hester said not noticing the disappointed look on the albino's face.

"And how would you know?" Anadil snapped, making Hester face her with a surprised look.

"Um, you should open it, maybe there's something uh- useful or valuable inside.  Who knows?"  Anadil added quickly trying to make up for her sudden outburst.

Hester snickered, "Valuable?  Ani, do you really think somebody likes me that much, they would send diamonds to me?"

--

From behind the covers, Dot overheard the entire conversation.  She also noticed how red the pale witch got.  Dot knew something was up, and she was going to find it out.

--

During class, Hester reached in her desk to grab her book when her hands landed on another envelope.

She took out a deep red envelope that matched her finger glow almost exactly.

She kind of liked the fact that her secret admirer thought about making it that shade of red.

Anadil blushed as Hester held the letter thoughtfully.  Maybe she still had a chance!

--

Dot stared at her roommates in shock.

Anadil as in the evil, albino version of Cinderella had a crush on Hester, the tattooed witch who hated Dot in the guts.  Dot already had a million questions buzzing in her chocalate filled head but she decided to wait until Hester was busy, and Anadil was alone.

--

During lunch Hester sat down next to her friend before grabbing the first note from her pocket.

She silently read it and her face turned as red as her hair.

Dot giggled underneath her breath as she never seen the witch this flustered before.

Hester fumbled for the second note and showed it to Anadil after she read it.  The albino seemed uninfected by the note, the total opposite of Hester's reaction.

--

Hester shoved the food down her throat and quickly left before lunch was over.

The note had told her to go to her dorm.

As she traveled to her coven, she thought about who the admirer could've been, but more about who she wanted it to be.

She thought about Ravan as they've went out with each other once but it wasn't likely it was him.  As they broke up the next day.

She also thought of Vex but that wimpy moron was more into Anadil.

The thought of Anadil and Vex dating made her mad, but she didn't know why.  Why should she care if they ended up together?  But the more she thought about it the angrier she got.

She couln't possibly like Vex.  That filthy chameleon, no way anyone liked him.

That meant there was one other person she had fallen for, her roommate.  As she thought of Anadil, she didn't notice how much she liked about her.  She cursed at herself for falling in love with someone who couldn't possibly return her feelings.

--

Dot took advantage of Hester's leave.

She immediately started with the questions.

"You're in love with her!?" She hissed at Anadil.

"Wha- how do you know?" The albino stared at her chocolate - loving roommate.

"Is it that obvious?" Anadil asked worriedly, "you haven't told anyone else, right?"

"Anadil, you should've told me.  I could've helped you!  And no, not yet."

The albino glared at her, "and it better stay that way."

Dot sighed as she continued to bomboard her with questions.

Anadil interrupted her.

"Dot, I'm meeting her tonight.  Can you help me get ready?"

Dot squealed in delight and she happily agreed.

--

In the dorm, she noticed a note on her bed that hadn't been there this morning.

' Meet me at the lake.

See you at 8:30 tonight. '

Hester didn't know why, but she felt excited.  She snapped out of her dreams when she heard a loud laugh from the hallways.  She was disgusted at herself for thinking like the Ever morons.

She had a tiny sliver of hope it was going to be who she wanted it to be.  But she didn't let herself hope too much.  She knew if she got her expectations high, it would probably shatter.

--

As Hester went to the library, Dot fussed about what Anadil was going to wear.

She had borrowed something from Sophie, a slightly revealing dress.

Anadil refused to wear it but Dot convinced her after 20 minutes.

As she stepped out, Dot gasped loudly.

Anadil worried, " do I look that horrific?"

"No, you look. . . AWESOME!!  You are so wearing this."  Dot screamed in delight.

The dress was tightly on her and it almost reached her knees.  It was pure black except for some bright red highlights that matched her eyes.  Dot gave her a jacket to wear.

She also forced her to take a shower and wash her hair.

By the time they were done it was almost 8:30.

Anadil thanked Dot as she headed out, worry and excitement filling her blood.

--

Hester waited until she saw a figure aproach.

She was shocked to see Anadil smiling awkwardly at her.

"Ani?  You're my secret admirer?"  Hester whispered staring at what her friend was wearing.

"Surprise I guess?"  The albino laughed quietly as her whole face started heating up.

Hester stammered until she finally found the right words.

"I-I like you.  A lot."

Anadil's eyes widened and blushed so hard she might've as well been a tomato.

"Me too."

Suddenly the tattooed witch pulled her in and gently kissed her.

They stayed like that for a few moments before Hester asked her out.

Anadil was soaring.

They walked hand in hand, fitting like a puzzle, to their dorm.
