Suddenly, a circular beam of bright, gold light illuminated the hallway and through it, I could see the back of a head covered with curly blonde hair.

It was her.

"GWEN!" I shouted, completely forgetting that there were two other Peters, plus an MJ, who would likely hear me and come to figure out what's up.

The blonde figure turned around, and flashed a set of pearly whites at me. She recognized my voice. Don't ask me how. I just knew.

She started sprinting toward me, her over-the-knee brown boots click-clacking on the pavement as she ran.

The final leap in her journey lead her into my arms, and I hugged her tight, my tears landing on her purple sweater.

I cupped her face in my hands, and once my eyes were looking into hers, I realize she was crying too.

"Gwen...".

"Peter..."

"G-wen...".

"Pe-".

Our moment was cut off by the sound of sobbing next to us. I somehow managed to pull myself away from Gwen to look over at Ned, who was wiping tears from his eyes.

"It's just so beautiful," he remarked shakily.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Thanks, man. Like seriously, thank you."

Ned nodded enthusiastically, beaming with pride.

"Who...where..." Gwen's face scrunched up as spoke, wanting answers but probably not knowing where to even begin.

Thankfully, I could also relate.

I also had no idea what was going on or how this all worked, but all that mattered is that she's here...she's here and she's beautiful and she's here and she's...

"Peter? You okay?"

I shook my head. Wow. I was really just daydreaming about the girl who is RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. SHE'S ALIVE. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

"Yes. I'm great. I'm amazing," I said, squeezing her hand.

"I'm Ned," Peter's best friend interrupted, holding out his hand for Gwen to shake. She dropped mine and happily accepted his, smiling back at him.

"Gwen Stacy. Great to meet you, Ned. Forgive how rude this sounds, but...who...are you exactly?"

Ned blushed and swatted the air to signify it was no big deal, but his gesture was so overdone that it looked like he was trying to avoid a fly.

"I'm Peter's best friend!" Ned answered proudly.

Gwen raised an eyebrow. "I don't remem-".

"Ohhhh. The other Peter's best friend," Ned explained.

"Other Peters? What?"

Gwen didn't have to wait long for an explanation. One of my brothers joined our little welcome home party, looking puzzled, but not angry.

"I think he means me," the Peter who lived in this universe replied.

Ut oh.
