Saturday; 9:21 a.m

Bokuto fiddled with his shirt as he awkwardly stood at Shouyou's apartment door. He lifted his hand to knock, but brought it back down and groaned into his palms.

Should I really take him to the trampoline park? Shouyou likes to read... I should take him to the library before, so it starts out nice... or something... But that wouldn't get his blood pumping. In fact, it'd do the opposite..! Ugh, what if I do something wrong?

Bokuto straightened himself out and took a deep breath.

No, you've thought about it all night. I'm sure Shouyou's gonna have a good time. We can always leave if he isn't! You can do this! You've already kissed, so he has to be the least bit interested, right?! You've got a starting point already!

He knocked and cleared his throat. He hoped he hadn't killed the flowers in his sweaty hands. Shouyou cracked the door open and peeked through. Even through such a small space Bokuto could see Shouyou visibly brighten.

"Senpai! One sec!"

The door closed, the chain was opened, and Shouyou moved off to the side to let Bokuto inside. "Sorry, it's, uh, a bit messy, haha..."

Their date wasn't scheduled until 10:30, but it was agreed that Bokuto would come at 9:30, and they'd take the bus there at 10.

Shouyou had no idea where they were going, though.

Books were scattered all over, stacked on the coffee table, a few on the couch- the shelves were stuffed full.

Seeing Shouyou's personal space is already a big thing, but being in it? Bokuto felt as if he was learning new things about Shouyou everywhere he turned.

"Ah, you can look around or sit or whatever, I'll go make some tea!"

Bokuto fiddled with his fingers and nodded. He began walking around, skimming over the many book spines and inhaling the calming scent of coffee and ink lingering in the air.

A few cups were scattered around the table, plates as well, Bokuto wondered how Shouyou took his coffee. Maybe dark? If he learns, he can make it for him one day.

Something rubbed his ankle, he glanced down and yelped.

"What the fuck is that?!"

Shouyou came rushing in with two cups in his hand but laughed at the sight of his senpai stepping away from his cat.

"That's Fishbait! He's a Sphynx Cat!"

Shouyou lifted the cat up, and he looked so beautiful and angelic compared to that demonic rat. "Here you go, Fishbait."

The cat was gently placed on the couch, but jumped off and ran down the hall.

Fishbait... What a strange name...

"Ahaha, sorry, do you want to see the other one? I can call him in."

"Ah, sure! Sure, but, uh, first! These are for you!"

He seemed surprised by Bokuto holding the flowers out but gratefully accepted them with a smile.

"Thank you, Senpai! They're really pretty! I'll have to put them on the window sill so the cats don't knock them down!"

Bokuto watched as Shouyou got a vase out and filled it with water. They looked nice in front of the window, so high up over the city and all. He could see the university from here.

"Uhm, Shouyou..."

Once the flowers were situated, Shouyou turned to his senpai with a soft smile. "Is it okay if I hug you?"

Though Shouyou's cheeks turned light pink, he placed a curled finger over his mouth and nodded bashfully.

Bokuto slowly wrapped Shouyou up in his arms, nuzzling steadily into his nape and inhaling his deliciously calming scent.

It was a scent he could never quite place. At first, it smells sweet, but now that Bokuto's smelt the calming scent of Shouyou's home, it smells a bit different.

He smells like books, like rain, like coffee beans and vanilla. He smells like serenity. Bokuto wouldn't mind living in such a smell for the rest of his life.

"Sorry if I'm a bit all over the place, Senpai... This is my first time going on a date and... I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon, so I'm a bit flustered, but..."

Shouyou gripped tighter to the back of Bokuto's shirt and chuckled quietly into his neck, Bokuto's cheeks caught fire. "There's so much I want you to see here that I'm overly excited, haha..."

So cute. He's so cute...

"We have time... Why not, um... Why not show me?"

He grinned, Bokuto also offered a smile of his own. "Really? Then, I wanna show you my kitties first!"

Bokuto's hand was taken into Shouyou's and they were heading through the hallway and into the bedroom. The door was cracked and inside looked, well, it was filled with so many things Bokuto wasn't sure what to focus his eyes on.

It wasn't messy, per se, everything seemed to have its own place, but there were plants hanging from the ceiling in knitted baskets and books stacked up in every corner of the room. His bed was queen-sized and filled with mismatching quilts and blankets and plushies and pillows.

Tapestries hung on the walls, outlined with yellow fairy lights. Peel-and-stick glow stars were stuck all over his roof.

There was a vinyl player sitting on a chair near the window and a crate of records beside that. On the paint-stained desk, there was a small stack of journals, a mug of pencils and paintbrushes, and a few cameras.

This really caught his attention, so he couldn't help but walk over while Shouyou played with the cats on his bed.

The wall above his desk was filled with polaroids and developed pictures of Shouyou, his cats, scenery, and his family- seriously, it seems Shouyou likes to take pictures... a lot of them...

"Shouyou... do you like taking pictures?"

Shouyou sat up on his bed and laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, it's my job, after all! There's no point in doing a job that makes you unhappy, right?"

Shouyou walked over and gently took the camera off his desk. "Can I... take a picture of you?"  A blush began spreading over Bokuto's face as he nodded.

A couple steps back and Shouyou was holding the camera up to his face. "Say cheese!" There was a flash of light, and Bokuto watched Shouyou take the printed picture out of the bottom of the camera.

"It takes a few minutes to fully develop. So, uhm..."

Really, there's so much Bokuto doesn't know about Shouyou. He feels like, with every new thing he learns about his adorable kouhai, he's falling deeper and deeper in love.

"This is Quimby, Senpai!"

Shouyou scooped up the fluffy cat sitting at the end of his bed and bumbled over to Bokuto with a grin. "He's a domestic shorthair!"

"He's cute..." Bokuto reached out and gave the cat some head pats before Shouyou placed him back on the bed. "So are you..."

It just kind of slipped out, but Bokuto didn't bother explaining that because Shouyou reacted well to it. His face flushed, his eyes widened and his body perked up in surprise. "That-That's strange, Senpai..."

Bokuto reached out and brushed a curl behind Shouyou's ear. "... You're so precious to me..."
