"There's nothing in this room, either."

"Ugh!! It's like a maze in here! Paimon's getting tired!"

It was the.. what, tenth door that the Traveler had opened so far? And each door led into a relatively empty room. Empty in the sense of absence of life, or any significant looking pieces of furniture. The lack of life either meant one thing: Death was prevalent here... That, or they had just woken up in an abandoned house. The Traveler wasn't sure which outcome would unsettle her more.

In any case, it was getting quite repetitive and annoying.

"You're getting tired?" Traveler narrowed her eyes at her floating companion. "You're literally floating. I'm the one walking around and investigating." She put her hands on her hips, exhaling sharply through her nose. "If anything, I should be the tired one!"

Paimon seemed almost offended by her words. Puffing up her chest and exhaling in a similar fashion. "Heyyy! Floating takes a lot out of me too, ya know! And I didn't even mean it literally! Paimon's tired of the repetitiveness!!"

"In any case," Traveler ignored her friend's mini temper tantrum. "This house seems pretty empty."

"But it's weird, isn't it?" Paimon moved from Traveler's side to her front, bobbing up and down. Almost like she was floating on water, Traveler mused to herself. Nothing new, but still something to observe. "It's empty, but so big too! You would think that there'd be at least something important here! There isn't even anything showing where we are.."

She had a point. Both the Traveler and Paimon had suddenly woken up in one of the rooms, sprawled on the dirty floors. Both had no previous memory on how they had arrived there.

Actually, the latest memory they had was them doing commissions with Childe. He had the day off (or so he had claimed), but strangely instead of spending it to relax, he spent it with them. Traveler still recalled what he had said before they went out,

"If it's a day spent with you, comrade, then it's a day well spent!"

It was.. very cheesy of him to say. A little out of character as well, but she couldn't help but feel at least a little bit warmed over his sentiment. Although that does raise the question of where he was in the middle of all of this.

'Actually,' She chewed on her thumb, a thought crossing her mind. 'The question is, what did Childe have to do with this?'

It was pretty easy not to trust the ginger. He was a Fatui Harbinger after all. Who knows what plot they (the fatui) could've had for her. It wasn't the first time they had tried to get them out of the picture, refer to the case of Scaramouche.

'Although that would be a really crappy move on his part. Saying something as nice as that, just to take me somewhere far away.. Maybe far away? I don't know! We have no clue where we are! Ugh, as soon as I see that man, I swear I'll...'

"You're thinking about something?" Paimon questioned. It snapped Traveler out of her thoughts quickly, causing her to jump ever so slightly.

"Ah, no.. Yes, actually." She regained her composure, flattening the creases of her cream dress. "I was wondering.. maybe this was a Fatui plot? I mean, we were just hanging out with Childe, so.."

Paimon nodded. "Yup! That'd be the Fatui for you! Slowly easing you into a false sense of security, when.. WHAM!" Paimon made a large swinging gesture with her arm. Represented a finishing blow, perhaps? "But.. Wouldn't it make more sense to take us out by surprise?"
