It was a Saturday morning, and Dream had grown to love Saturday mornings.
In a past life, Saturday mornings meant waking up early, maybe going into work or training with the team. But for the past six months of his life, Saturday mornings had meant sleeping in and eating breakfast in bed, all with George right by his side.
It had been just over two weeks since Dream and George had agreed that they were both ready to return to the mafia lifestyle. Two weeks of last minute traveling and then finally settling down in a modestly sized apartment on the outskirts of London.
Sapnap had found the temporary home for them, telling them he needed them there for the business he had planned. He had been scarce with the details over the phone, promising to tell them more when he arrived in London himself.
All of this came flooding back to Dream, who was quickly regretting his decision to rejoin the team as a buzzing phone pulled him from the depths of sleep. He groaned, hand pushing out from under the blankets in search of the offending device. Finding the cold metal of his phone, he pulled it towards him, rubbing the sleep from his eyes with his free hand and prying them open to see countless missed calls and text messages from none other than Sapnap.
Dream groaned again, dropping the phone down against the mattress and rolling towards the center of the bed. He instinctively reached for George, wrapping his arms around the brunette's slim waist and pulling him until George's back was bumping against his chest.
"George," Dream muttered in a voice that still sounded half asleep, "wake up."
"Don't wanna," George grumbled back, attempting to roll away from Dream and failing.
Dream held him tighter, breath fanning against the back of George's neck as he responded, "come on, Georgie. Sapnap texted me, his plane landed and he needs to be picked up from the airport."
George scoffed quietly, shaking his head where it lay against the pillow and answering, "so you go pick him up. He's your best friend."
Dream gave George's waist a squeeze as he said, "he's your best friend, too. I've heard you call him that multiple times. You can't use that as an argument anymore."
George groaned, and Dream felt the low rumble of it against his chest. He tried to suppress a smile, letting his arms loosen as George rolled over to face him. With his dark eyes tipped up in Dream's direction, he batted his long lashes and spoke in a soft voice, "you're really going to force me out of bed to pick up Sapnap?"
Dream hated how pretty he looked, and how one simple look could always make him give in. With a roll of his eyes, he sighed in defeat, and George's lips pressed against his jaw as he muttered, "you're the best, Dream."
With a shake of his head, Dream pushed himself up, caging George in against the bed with a palm pressed flat to the mattress on either side of his head. A smug grin settled on his face, and his eyes roamed lazily over George's features as he muttered, "I know I am. You can show me just how amazing I am later, because I do expect compensation for dragging my ass out of bed this early in the morning."
A soft laugh brushed past George's lips, and he looked up at Dream through the dark of his lashes as he answered, "of course, Dream. I'll be sure you get extra compensation for your sacrifice."
Dream chuckled quietly, dipping his head lower and catching George's lips in a kiss. Fingers slid up into his messy hair almost instantly, pulling him closer despite the fact that Dream was already pulling away. George's head fell back against the pillow with a dissatisfied sound, and Dream gave him a smug grin as he quietly muttered, "sorry, pretty boy. Sapnap's waiting for me."
