Jace:
I have football practice today but I didn't really want to go. It's not that I don't love being on and being the captain, but I want to check on Ronny. She seemed better though at lunch, she just seemed curious. I decided to look for her, so I could make sure that wasn't just an act. I can't have her scared of me. I won't.
I went to her locker and found her trying to shove books in the top half of it. She was so short she had to stand on her tippy toes to reach and even then she was having trouble. I smiled to myself as I watched her while I walked up. Her red hair hung to the middle of her back and her pale arms streatched out as far as possible.
I plucked the books out of her hands and put them where she had been trying to get them. Startled she whirled on me looking angry, but she smiled when she saw it was just me. She still looked tired even though she had gotten to sleep until lunch.
" Thanks, I would have never gotten them up there " she said. She looked into her locker and grabbed her bag. " I thought you had football practice again today " she added. She glanced at me.
I shrugged " Yeah, I wanted to check on you though " I said a little embarressed. I mean, it's not like she's my girlfriend. Boyfriends check on their girlfriends when they're worried.
" Your so sweet " she smiled broadly. " I should get going. I have to talk some more with my mom today " her smile slowly faded. " I'll talk to you tomorrow? "
" Of course " I said, she stood on her tippy toes and touched her lips to my cheek. Electricity seemed to pulse through my body as she lingered there, then she pulled away and walked off. She kept glancing back and smiling. I had a really strong urge to run after her and never let her go, but I was going to be in alot of trouble if I missed practice, so with all my effort I slowly walked back to the gym.
I changed quickly and jogged out to the field. Kaden was there getting warmed up.
" You look like your on cloud nine " he said eyeing me suspicously. I shook my head, but kept my smile. I don't care if I look like I'm on cloud nine, I'm that much closer to getting the one person I love the most.
Ronny:
I didn't want to go home. My mom said that today was going to be way more important then yesterday. What could be more important then being told your a werewolf and the person you really like is going to be the Alpha one day. Yeah that's not important at all.
I had gotten out of detention luckily because of my collapse, so that's one thing that came out of it. I walked into my house and dropped my bag loudly making sure my mother knew I was home. I went into the kitchen and grabbed some orange juice then made my way into the living room. I had a new question for my parents now though. I had been thinking about it all night as I just sat there. She said the attack hadn't been random. Why would they attack me? I wasn't anything special. I wasn't like soon to be Alpha or whatever. That attack really messed me up, obviously.
" Hi sweetheart " my mom said. My dad was sitting there too. I was glad he was here this time. It wasn't so weird with just me and my mom. I sat down across from them.
" You said it wasn't random. Why wasn't it random? Why did they attack me? " I asked before either of them could ask anything. I don't want to hear what they have to say. I want the whole truth. I understand why she had to get the whole 'your a shifter' thing out of the way first but I needed answers about this particular thing.
My parents looked at eachother. " When you were born there was a bad war going on between our pack and the Silver Pack. We knew we were about to lose and we needed to come up with something fast. The Alpha, Jace's dad, came to us knowing we had just had you. You were a beautiful baby, there was no doubt you'd be just as beautiful now, which you are. Well, anyway, he had an idea to stop the war. He wanted to unite the two packs. Through a marriage. He wanted you to marry the son of the Alpha that had just been born also, this way we'd all be one and the war would be over. We didn't want to at first, we really didn't want to agree to it, but he said if we didn't want you to be in a war now then it would be in your best intrest. We agreed, when you turned sixteen you would be wed to Alexander Silver, the Alpha to be.
" Then you got older and you became best friends with Jace. You knew of the marriage plans but no one else did. You accepted it. But we could all see how much you and Jace loved eachother. It was like none of the pack members ever saw before. The love between you two at such a young age was so strong. The Alpha, his name is Walker by the way, knew for sure you and Jace would be mates. We all knew. He didn't want to have Jace and you torn apart so he called it off.
" We were relieved, no war had started. But then you started telling us you kept seeing wolves that weren't part of the pack. And one day they decided to take you. You were twelve then and they attacked while you were with Emily, Jace, and Kaden. They brought you into the woods and did a lot of damage. Walker thought that once you were better and not so critical we should take you away. We had to reteach you who we were. We didn't bother with telling you until now. They found us. They must have been tracking us. I know Walker had been watching. He called us back. That's why we came back. "
I didn't know what to say. I was just shocked into silence. An arranged marriage? But I knew about it. I agreed to it! I almost got killed because of it! I tried to think about it. That day. How could I not remember that?! The more I tried to recall it though the more my head started to ache.
" I'm going to lay down " I whispered. I don't know if I can take it. All of this information piled onto me all at once. I couldn't sleep just from finding out I was a wolf person, now this! I'm being pretty much stalked by someone I was suppost to marry!
" We're sorry sweetie. We didn't mean for you to get hurt " my mom said quietly. I said nothing I just walked up the stairs and collapsed on my bed. Surprisingly sleep overthrew me quickly.
