I woke up the next day and quickly got ready for school.
I was late.

Almost forgetting to grab the pictures, I stumbled out the door completely skipping breakfast.

Luke was sitting in the passenger seat when I got in the car.

"What makes you so special, today?" I asked.

"I thought maybe I deserved to have a clearer view of the world I was so rudely taken from."

I paused. "Fair enough."

We arrived at school and I walked in through the back door, since my class was closer to it.

Shoving the pictures into my jacket pocket I approached Jane.

"Hey, my name is Mack. Jane is it?"

She looked confused.

"Yeah?" She said.

"Sorry, I'm Luke Hemmings', uh, cousin and I just moved here. Did you know him?" I asked.

She closed her locker.

"Um yeah, I assume you know he's not living."

"Unfortunately. I was just trying to find some people that knew him."

"Yeah, I was his girlfriend right before he died. He was a great person, really. I'm not sure why someone would want him dead." She started to tear up.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to make you cry." I said.

"No, it's fine it's fine." She quickly walked away.

Great. That went well.

I walked down the hall and spotted Calum.

"Oh, frick." I muttered under my breath.

I totally forgot about last night.

I ran up to him and began to apologize, telling him I was up to my eyes in homework and I completely spaced.

"It's okay, I didn't expect you to come anyways. No one as pretty as you would ever want someone like me. It was silly of me don't worry about it." He walked away and I immediately caught up with him.

He honestly was one of the most attractive guys I've ever seen, but I didn't know how to tell him that.

"Please Calum, come to my house tonight? I'll cook something." I said out of desperation.

"You'll cook something?" He laughed. "Sure, sure. I'd like to see this."

I kissed him on the cheek and walked the other way, not realizing what I did until I felt my face heat up.
