05: A different kind of love(finale)

After the ceremony, we hosted a small gathering for the guest at an outdoor restaurant.

Everybody was having the time of their lives— dancing, eating, chatting, etc. 

When it was time to open gifts I went over to the MC and asked for the mic.

"Hey everyone so... I would like to call up Mine and Wonwoo's parents and our siblings of course, as I have a special gift for all of you." You smiled as They all went up to you and Wonwoo.

"Haeun-ah I didn't know we had to give gifts to our parents as well.." Wonwoo whispered as I chuckled. 

"You have one too don't worry." I whispered back.

You got the envelopes and handed them one each— as you stood back and smiled.

"I want you guys to open them at the same time." A big smile grew on your face.

As the guest counted down they got ready to open the envelope.

As the guest reached 1 they all opened the envelope to see a paper with an ultrasound, their mouths gaped open as they all cheered and hugged you, Wonwoo took a while for it to sink in.

He came up to you and hugged you as you smiled.

"Like my gift?" Wonwoo smiled and nodded. "How old is our baby?" Wonwoo had a huge smile on his face as he caressed your stomach.

"3 weeks..." You smiled.

Wonwoo couldn't contain his excitement anymore and screamed.

"I'm a Dad now!!" As the guest cheered.

I chuckled as I've never seen Wonwoo like this before.

We all settled down as we all ate and enjoyed the day.

As Wonwoo and I were walking around greeting guests, someone familiar went up to us.

"Congratulations..."

'Jin-ae???'

'I knew invited all of our batchmates but I never thought she would've came.'

Wonwoo and I were shocked.

"Thank you Jin-ae..." You politely said.

As she nodded.

"You know... I knew you two would end up together somehow, I just had to keep my head high and hoped Wonwoo would like me back. and now I'm in front of my Highschool crush watching him get married to the girl I used to bully and got jealous of... I hope you forgive me Haeun." Jin-ae blurted which made Wonwoo look tense.

"I forgive-"Wonwoo cuts you off as he spoke.

"So all this time you were the one who was calling her mean names?"Jin-ae nodded as her face was flushed with guilt.

"I'm sorry Wonwoo... I just- I didn't know what got into me in high school. I didn't know that bullying her won't make you like me...Instead, It would just make you hate me more. So, please... Can you both forgive me?" Jin-ae pleaded.

Wonwoo and I made eye contact and nodded.

 I held her shoulder "Jin-ae... I hope you're doing well, and thank you for coming. please enjoy yourself." You smiled as you and Wonwoo went off to greet more guests.

-2 weeks later-

Wonwoo canceled all of his meetings as of today— Because It was my check-up today.
