Did We Fall Too Fast

Chapt. 2

August's Pov

I wake before Onika so I decide to make breakfast for her. I cook waffles , bacon and grits with orange juice on the side. "Baby?" I hear her call. "Good morning love." I say picking her up and kissing her. "Good morning , what's all this?" She asks.

"What I can't cook for my wonderful wife?" I ask. "It's alot tho babe." She says sitting down. "Well I'll help you finish it." I say sitting next to her. I take a forkful of her grits and feed it to her. "They're actually good baby!" She says suprised. "Well that hurts you acting like I can't cook." I say pouting. She kisses me and we just eat and eat.

After we finish I lay her on the couch and start giving her a massage. I start at her neck and finish at her feet. "Thank you baby." She says kissing me. "Anything for my love." I say standing up. "Go ahead and get in the shower and get dressed." I say taking her hands and helping her up.

She does as told and I put the dishes in the dishwasher. I go get in the shower and get dressed. I brush my teeth and catch a glimpse at Onika's. I whistle at her and she just blushes. I go and get her earrings that I gave her for birthday last year.

She puts them in and puts her lipstick on. "Ready?" I ask. She nods and gets her purse and her phone.

First I take her to get her nails did and sit there with her. She lets me choose the color of her nails , I choose red of course. We finish there and I take her to the mall. We go straight to Victoria Secret. I pick up a bra and pant set and she just laughs.

She puts it over her arm and I just watch her shop.

Onika's Pov

While I'm shopping I hear this high pitched voice. "August!" I hear it call. I turn around see a slim thick brown skin girl hug August. "Is this your niece?" She asks holding August' hand. He lets it go.

"No I'm his wife! And who are you?" I ask her. She bites her lip and looks up at August. "August who is she!" I ask getting loud. "A girl I slept with while you where pregnant with Aubrey." He says mumbling the last part.

"Just a girl you slept with?! You told me we had a relationship!" She yells. I drop everything and run out the store crying. I stop outside the mall and just break down. "Excuse me?" I hear someone ask.

I look up and lock eyes with light skinned man with a slight beard and curly hair. "Yes?" I ask. "What's a beautiful woman like you doing crying?" He asks. "My husband cheated on me while I was pregnant and I just now found out." I say sniffing.

He takes my hands and lifts me up. I look down at my feet. "Pick ya head up princess don't let ya crown fall." He says taking my chin and lifting my chin. He looks at me and smiles , I can't help but smile back.

We walk back inside and he takes me to the food court. He gets me a slice of pizza and fries. "I never got your name." I say chewing a french fry. "I'm Aubrey and you are?" He asks. "Aw my sons name is Aubrey and I'm Onika." I say smiling. "So , your names Onika , you're married and a kid." He says smiling.

"Kids actually. I have daughter too , Aaliyah." I say laughing. "But enough about my kids more about you." I say crossing my legs. "I'm Aubrey , no kids , no wife , no girlfriend." He says sighing. "I remember those days." I say shaking my head. "Can I get your number Onika?" He asks. "Sure." I say swapping phones.

"Onika!" I hear August yell. "Husband?" Aubrey asks. "Yep." I say sighing. "Baby , I been looking everywhere for you , I just wanted to apologize , baby I'm so sorry. I fucked up." He says getting on one knee. "Nigga can I help you?" He says noticing Aubrey.

"Don't talk to him like that!" I snap at August. "Yeah , I'ma go Onika , I'll talk to you later." He says.

I sigh and listen to Augusts' bull shit. "Baby you listening?" He asks. "Yes August." I lie. "I'm not mad about the cheating , I'm mad that you cheated while I was waddling around carrying your son!" I try not to yell and burst into tears.

"And I've felt terrible about it ever since I've done it." He says looking into my eyes and taking both my hands. "Take me home August." I say sighing. I stand up and he follows behind. 

I get home and pack a bag. "Baby where you going?" He asks standing the doorway. "Move August." I say shedding tears. "No whenever we argue you try to leave , you ain't going no where." He says pushing me up against a wall.

"August get off of me!" I yell. I look him in his eyes and see the hurt and the pain , he wants to break down so bad but his anger won't let him. I break down in tears and he cuddles me in his arms. 

He breaks down with me. "Baby I'm so sorry." He says letting his tears fall. "August I can't fully forgive you for this , I'm sleeping in the guest room until I can." I say sighing. "No , I'll do that." He says sighing. 

We go our seperate ways until I decide to go get the kids from Augusts' moms house. "Is everything okay Nicki?" His mom asks. "No momma , August told me he cheated while I was pregnant with Aubrey." I say sitting down at the kitchen table. Her mouth falls open.

I nod and she hugs me. "I'll talk to him Onika. But please stick with the boy he'd be sick without you." She says putting her hand on mine. I nod and go get the babies. 

"Daddy!" They say running into his arms when we get home. "Go eat doo doo heads , I need to talk to mommy." He says. "I talked to Momma , she's right , I need to stop playing these little boy games with you and treat you like a real man would." He says taking both my hands in his. I nod and shed a tear.

He wipes it away. "I love you Onika." I love you too August." I whisper. He kisses me and I kiss him back. "Ewwww!" The kids yell. I laugh and just lay my head on his chest. "What I tell y'all little niggas about snooping on mommy and me?" He says running after them

They yell as he tackles them to the ground. "Mommy help!" I run in and swoop them up but he tackles me on the couch. We all lay there and laugh and Aubrey falls asleep on my chest and Aaliyah is asleep on August.

"I love you." He says kissing me. We lay there and fall asleep.
