4. Broken Flower

You have forgotten me. You have forgotten us. Why couldn't we be closer? Why can't you belong to me? But it's her, always just her.

Your heart is any girl's dream garden, who wouldn't kill to be the elegant rose in your life? I wish it was me, but I am no more than a grey Dicentra, a bleeding heart.

What has your rose done to lure you away from 'our story'? You have forgotten. I was the first in all of this land to rise to respond to the call of the sun's light, the last to fall asleep, all to fulfil your wishes. Ever since I fell for you, I have wanted to be the one to put a smile on your face everyday, grant your wishes to the best of my ability, give you my undivided attention, my whole life ever since that day I gave you my heart was dedicated to you, I wanted you to make me feel like the only one you see, the only perfect being on this Earth.

But then she weaselled her way into your heart, you love her, exactly how I love you.

You water one rose while leaving the other to die, you give your affection to another while leaving me behind, you don't see the petals falling, like my heart slowly breaking as you take one step after another, drifting further away, the last petal holds on, it doesn't want to let you go, it wants your love and attention, I'm secretly begging you don't disappear, pretending to absolutely loathe you, but the truth is I'm hoping reality didn't bring this upon me.

I wish I was the one you gave your heart to. I wish on a star every night that you haven't given up on me, wishing we were alright. But I see you looking happy, I see that passion in your eyes, when you look at her, I see that she's the only one you see, why are you happy? Did you feel I couldn't give you the love that she could? Or are we not meant to be?

The truth comes crashing down, you have given your heart to her. The last petal of hope falls.

The rose has died.

My heart cannot be fixed.

I will never feel this for anyone again.
