A month had passed. Isabella blinked as her eyes struggled to adjust to the bright lights. She slowly sat up and looked around the room. "Where am I?" she groaned. A lady walked into the room. "Who are--" The lady left the room before Isabella got the chance to ask her anything. She grabbed the remote to the TV off of the table next to the bed she was in. I'll just watch some TV and wait for someone to come in, she thought.
After a few minutes, the lady returned. This time, she brought Isabella's family and a strange-looking man. "My baby. You're awake!" her mother exclaimed as she ran to the bed.
"What happened?" Isabella questioned as she wriggled out of bed.
"This is remarkable. You are not injured in any way. You have no long-term memory loss? You're not experiencing any headaches? Nausea?" the man wondered.
"No. Why? Who are you?" Isabella glanced at her family, seeking answers.
"My name is Dr. Banes. You are in a hospital," the man finally told her.
"Why? Am I okay? Why am I here?" Isabella looked at her body to make sure she was okay.
"You don't remember, sweetie? You... were struck by lightning. You went into a coma," her mother answered, her eyes watering.
