Getting through, with friends

Chapter 5

Yesterday's detention wasn't so bad, they had to help Hagrid out with his groundskeeping chores. Hagrid is always cheerful and nice to them. The problem is that the chores are always heavy, and they aren't allowed to use magic.

So, by the time they got to their dorm they were very tired. Peter fell asleep in an instant, but James wanted to wait for the others, where did Remus and Sirius go? But he fell asleep fast too.

When he wakes up the next morning he wants to ask them, , but everyone is still sleeping... it's the first day of vacation and he doesn't want to wake them. Peter is already gone for the vacation, he had to wake up very early to catch the train.

He could take his broom and go to the Quidditch-field... no, he doesn't feel like it. He could go to the common room, but almost everyone is gone home... no, he doesn't want to sit alone in the common room.

He picks up a book, he doesn't read much, but he ordered this book on sexuality to learn about it, to know about his body and his feelings. Until now it didn't help much...

After a few hours, he hears Sirius waking up and packs his book away, he doesn't know more than before about himself, and he doesn't want Sirius to know about his doubts.

"Hi Prongs, how was detention?"

"Hi Padfoot, we were with Hagrid, so you know how it is, not so bad"

"Sucks that you got caught, though."

James sees Remus move, he is waking up too, finally!

"You two are too loud, you know? I'm trying to sleep here"

"Good morning Moony, it's late, wake up!" Sirius is trying to stay awake.

"Where were you two last night? What did you do? You weren't here when we arrived" finally James can ask them! He is dying to know what they did without him.

"We went to the astronomy tower and had a joint" Sirius stops talking and frowns.

"I... I don't remember much of what happened next... we laughed a lot. This is weird, why can't I remember everything? Moony, do you remember everything?"

"I don't know... I remember thinking it was the full moon? Thinking I'm transforming?"

"Yes! You're right! And the broken moon! It was hilarious"

"What? Broken moon...? What are you talking about?" James doesn't understand anything, what are they talking about?

"We thought the moon was broken... we were really high."

"And then... and then..." Remus eyes become really big, and he stops talking. He blushes. "I don't remember anything else. I'm gonna take a shower" and off he goes to the bathroom, really fast.

"That was weird. Anyway, it seems like you two had fun last night" James is a little jealous that they were high without him. He hates missing fun times with his friends.

"Yeah, the sunset was incredible! I took a picture, where is my camera? And my wand? Ok. I can show you; I just have to take the pictures out." James knows Sirius can take a loooot of pictures and he wants to go to eat something!

"You can show me the pictures later, I'm starving. Get ready to go to breakfast? I'll wait in the common room." he knows if he stays here Sirius will need more time getting ready, because he will keep talking to him, so he goes to the common room, where he finds Lily.

"Good morning, Evans" she is beautiful, like an angel... stop James! You want her as a friend!

"More like afternoon, Potter. I've been up for hours" she is smiling, she seems to be in a good mood.
