You finished your task, as the two of you remained in the silent area, filled with: feet pitter pattering on the mats, Sun's low mumbles and the metal cans' clinking sounds. You were absolutely dumbstruck, the bubbly and cheerful animatronic was now a bumbling mess. "Thank you for everything! Sorry for being such a bother" the tall male stated defeated, as his voice cracked.
You give the lanky robot a worried glance, concerned by his unexpected character shift. "It was no problem at all! Actually it was my pleasure since you were so kind, as to bandage my injury!" You claim, trying to make Sun understand how grateful you were. The tall male shines you a forced sad smile as he accompanies you to the door, helping you leave. You exit the area, confused and preoccupied. You couldn't help but wonder why the animatronic suddenly felt so upset.
"That's it! I'm going to make him smile again!" You chant to yourself, now filled with excitement, pumping your fists. "Also! I'm only helping him because he aided me and because I'm bored here anyways" you whisper, trying to convince yourself with your words.
The next evening you clock into work, for the night shift, rushing to get your uniform on, ready to meet with the peculiar animatronic. You exit the locker room, heading straight to the daycare area, at a quick pace. You arrive to the place, riddled with children, that were still there, starting to leave with their parents for the night. You peek at the jungle gym, scanning the room for the familiar sun shaped head.
"Sun!" you hear a small voice cry, capturing you attention. A little boy sat in the middle of the play area, gripping his small finger, eyes filling up with innocent, clear tears. The lanky male quickly approached the child, taking long strides, to then position himself in front of the young one, squatting and meeting at eye level. "Don't cry" he spoke softly, giving the small boy a gentile smile, wiping away his tears full of worry.
"Here, let me see" Sun stated sweetly, offering his hand, allowing the child to place his hurt finger for him to see, on his palm. "Oh!" he exclaimed, surprising the sniffling kid. "It's all okay! Just a small cut! Let's put a Freddy band aid on it!" the tall male declared, showing a bright smile, calming the young one's initial fears. You giggle to yourself, watching as the animatronic softly take the child's hand, accompanying him to the security station to get him all bandaged up. You can't help but let a smile conquer your face, as you watch Sun successfully help the little rascal.
You continue to patrol the rest of the building, not wanting to interfere with Sun's play time, happily making the children audibly laugh joyfully, from all the fun they were having. You walk your usual route, noticing the building becoming completely empty, void of young voices laughing, playful pitter pattering and childish banter. The Pizza plex was quiet, as the entry now was officially closed, the emptiness was filled with the security bots flashlight clicking or the staff bots sweeping, it was kind of sad.
You swiftly make your way to the daycare, wanting to see the tall male's face. You arrive to the slide, now wanting to go down, right side up, not wanting to repeat the same mistake again. You successfully arrive to the bottom intact, glancing around the room for the cheerful animatronic. "Oh! It's you (Y/N), did you fall down again?" he questions, letting out a playful chuckle, as he stacks the children's toys. "No, I just wanted to use the slide..." you stutter awkwardly, trying to fan the pink away from your cheeks.
"How's your arm?" the giant questions, offering a hand to help you climb out the ball pit, shining you one of his brightest smiles, not helping your beating heart or blushing, steaming face. "Uhm, much better, thanks to your help" you state shyly, not quite able to fully make eye contact with the lanky robot. "I'm glad then!" he declares, letting a small, low laugh escape his lips. "How was your day today?" you ask curiously, almost referencing the scene you previously witnessed. "It was actually pretty fun!" he claimed excitingly, plopping himself on one of the chairs near the security desk. You follow him, placing yourself in the seat next to his.
"Don't turn the lights off" he states coldly, glancing at your hands, to then give direct eye contact. "I wont" you promise, raising your hands in front of yourself, showing the taller male the palms of your hands. "So what did you do today?" you question the robot, once again, trying to get his smile return to his face. "Well...one kid accidentally called me mom and it surprised me initially, later finding the comment quite endearing, unintentionally finding myself laughing-" Sun's speech suddenly came to a halt, as his smile vanished from his face.
You were confused, glancing at the robot, trying to understand his abrupt end to the conversation. "...And then what happened?" you ask, trying to further the discussion with the taller male. "Never mind, sorry for bothering you with all this unnecessary chatter" he spoke gently, letting out a soft, saddened chuckle. You were still perplexed by the his lack of wanting to continue a conversation, but you absolutely did not want to end everything on this awkward mood. "Actually! I saw you today, while patrolling the area! You were helping a little boy, after he hurt his finger" you state, looking the male in the eyes, trying to get him to speak.
"You saw that?" he questioned, now glancing back at you, surprised. "Yes! I think you were really charming helping that kid, stopping him from crying!" you claim huffing, trying to not notice the burning sensation on your red face. Sun laughed, as a light pink decorated his cheeks. "Why didn't you stop and say hello?" he smiled, starting to talk to you normally, once again.
