Wishing for you under the star

chapter one:

"See you after school!" I screamed to my mom. Sage had her back leaned on the wall.
"You're going to get us late again." She said as she sighed.
Sage is my best friend since kindergarten and she never left my side. We speed up our walking and started running because our bus was about to leave. We made it on time and she gasped in relief.
"Good thing we walked faster." I laughed as sage put her hand on her face.
The bus takes us to our school privately so everyone on here is going to our school. We find a seat and plan what to bring for our star seeing tonight. I look up and see girls wearing a hat that matched the uniforms. I nudge sage and whisper into her ear.
"Why are those girls wearing those headbands?" I said as she stared at it.
Sage looked around and whispered back. "The principal told them too, but I didn't get one but some of our classmates got it." She said as I'm confused. Why would he give headbands to them but not sage? I look out the window and see we arrived. Everyone got up and started heading to the front. Sage and I got up and grabbed our bags. Sage walked out first but bumped into Roman. "Watch it-" Roman said but as he saw sage he gasped.
He widened his eyes and asked, "sage are you okay?" In a soft tone. Great. Now he is baby talking sage even though she's fucking 17. I grab sage's arm and ran out the bus.
" They just acted as if they hit a baby on accident." I told sage as she stayed silent.
I look at her and I see her looking around. I look at her and ask, "sage are you okay?" I said as she zoned out. I grab her and run to the entrance of the building. I grab her and yell at her.
"Sage!" I shouted. She gasped and looked at me than her surroundings. "What?" She said as I look at her worried that she didn't eat again. I bring her to the nurse office and run to class. As soon as I sit in my seat the bell rings to begin class.
"Morning class." Mrs. Homes yelled. Everyone jumped up and said in a tone back, "morning."
Time passes by and it's already break. I stand up and was about to open the door until sage opened it. "Oh Alex." Sage said in a tone. She told me that the nurse wants to talk to me and I agree. I open the door to the nurse office and see nurse Alice.
"Are you Alex?" She said as I sit myself down. I nodded and she cleared her throat.
"Sage had restless nights and felt weak. She also sweats and gets nervous easily. She may have anxiety. After school take her to the doctors and notify the home room teacher and her parents." Nurse Alice said as she wrote down it just in case I forget.
I freeze and realize, why didn't she tell me? I would have helped her and try to cure it. I was sent out and waited for school to end.
Finally it ends and I call her mother.
"Hello, Alex is that you?" Her mother asked.
I tell her mother and she agrees. Sage and I arrive at the hospital and checked for an appointment. As we sat down to be called sage is trembling. "What's wrong sage?" I ask her to try to calm her down from being nervous. Sage looks at me and holds herself.
"The screaming is scaring me. Make it stop." She said as I widened my eyes. I hug as she still trembles and looked at her. "Don't worry, it's fine." I said. Sage gets up and throws things around. I try grabbing her but she pushes me into the chairs.
"Make it stop! Make it stop!" She screamed on repeat as other people run to safety. The doctors ran out and hold her down. They take sage into the room and I apologize to all the people.
I wait and sage comes out the door. The doctor calls me over and I rush over. "She has anxiety, she gets nervous around Many noises. " she said as I look at sage staring at the ground.
We went to sage's home and I dropped her off. I tell her mom that she has anxiety and she threw things around. Her mother sighed. The night falls and we didn't go star seeing. I go to the hill we always sit and watch the stars without her.
The next day I open the door and look for sage. Weird, she isn't at the wall waiting. I walk to sages home and seems like no one is home. "Damn, she left without me." I say sad since now I don't have anyone to talk to on the way to the bus stop. I walk into the bus and sit which is empty. I plug in my earphones and start playing music to drain out everyone.
I open my eyes and we are at school. I get up quick and ran off the bus. All my classmates walk into the doors and I close the door. I look at sages desk and see no one seating there. "Where is sage?" I ask Roman as he looks around.
"I don't know, she wasn't in the bus." He said as she shrugged.
Sage wasn't home, sage wasn't on the bus, and sage wasn't at school. Where is she?
I worry about if she was alright and waited for school to be over.
School bell dismissed us and Roman grabbed me.
"About sage, what happened to her?" He asked.
I look to the side and crossed my arms. "Don't tell anyone, but sage has anxiety. I found out yesterday when I took her for a check up." I say as he widened his eyes.
"Wait are you like her father getting there kid a check up?" He asked me as I slam my hand onto my face.
"Idiot no, her mom told me to since she couldn't go due to her being busy." I told Roman as he picked his nose. Disgusting.
Roman and I are friends since kindergarten too but he had a thing for sage for a long time. I like to tease him but people thinks I hate him. I hate it when he PICKS his nose. What is he? A kindergartner?
