The fight with Aldrich Killigan was very anticlimactic. Killigan was very reliant on his Extremis. Even the Iron Man suit could be melted by his powers. So who knew that three teenagers, one Latino kid, a shield agent, and another big teen could be a fair fight? Mostly the fight consisted of Tony and Rhodey being scandalized by the two demigods and cyclops conversation as they carelessly defeated each enemy
"NO! Why aren't you burning?" Killigan shouted in rage as he touched Tyson and Leo was hitting Killigan with his hammer- also technically touching him
"Technically I do somehow get burned. I mean I burned off my eyebrows once and oh boy did Piper mock me for that a while, and I get burned sometimes by the lava wall- wait why <em>do</em> I get burned sometimes, and don't? " Leo pondered
"Le Gasp!" He said literally " PERCY!" he shouted next as he let Tyson take care of Killigan while Leo started to take care of the goons surrounding Tyson
Percy who was hiding behind a pile of equipment from a goon that was shooting at him, jumped from his hiding place, ducked behind a second good (used him as a shield to block some more bullets) choked the first goon's neck Black Widow style, and finally tossed the first goon into a third goon that was climbing upwards the platform and made him fall answered "YEAH?" Percy shouted back to his friend
"DO YOU THINK I CAN EAT FIRE?" Leo shouted in the vague direction of Percy
"WHAT?" Tony shouted as he heard the conversation making him almost get touched by an Extremis goon – the fight for Iron Man was basically a lethal version of Tag
"Oh, I forgot I had comms so we don't have to shout- anyway- Percy! I'm gonna borrow Tyson after this so I can experiment with fire!"
Percy sighed as he tossed his gun to an Extremis goon- but the goon caught the gun and melted it "Sometimes I wish I can control ice! Anyway, ask Tyson!"
"Kid, are you going to EAT fire?" Tony asked as he flew about
"Well, I might. I survived an explosion-"
"-more like died- " Percy murmured but both Tony and Rhodey heard his murmuring from the comm
"-can set me on fire, yet I burn from lava? I need to figure out why, what, when, who, how, who, we, huh, why- " Leo was cut off by an Extremis goon blowing himself up "Hey! If you want me to shut up say something! Don't just explode in my face!" Leo said to the remains of the goon, as the tips of Leo's hair smoked "As I said! Does me surviving fire only include my organic fire? "
"Tony, where did you find these kids? And did Agent Jackson-Fury just say that other kid died?" Rhodey asked his friend
Tony murmured 'Organic Fire' and before he could comment, the next thing that happened was the Tyson kid- the agent's half-brother apparently- grow 30 feet tall and just sat down on Killigan.
Sometime later Percy realized that if he drowned the Extremis goons first they won't explode and that quickly ended the fight1
Like it was said at the start. The fight itself really wasn't much of a big deal. It was now the formation of a new friendship that was more important.
"Hey kid," Tony said to Leo "Call me and we can do something together in my shop yeah?" Tony said a bit awkward not used to branching out- much less to a kid who was pretty smart
Leo rambled as he was flustered too. Leo hadn't had any personal connection to an adult (Mortals mostly- Chiron and the gods don't count) in years, but Tony was so cool, and Leo would not mind a friendship with him. Imagine all the inventions we can create! (And the companionship- both Tony and Leo thought- someone that understands the need to talk and fiddle with tech)
