One by one, they all woke up. They stood up, and to their suprise, they were all standing on podiums. Dallas had looked next to them to see Lexie with him. Caleb had noticed Kelsey with him as well. In fact, they all seemed to be in groups of 2.
Kevin looked to the middle of their circle to see....
     "Is that...." Kevin began.
     "....a house???" Emily finished.
"Why the **** does this feel like a Hunger Games Arena?" Caleb asked.
"I've got a bad feeling about this." Dallas said, beginning to feel his body shaking with fear.
Suddenly a voice appeared to them.
     "Welcome, tributes", said the voice.
     "TRIBUTES?!", Kelsey exclaimed.
"To answer your previous question, it is not quite exactly what you think, but similar. You currently stand on the podiums surrounding what I like to call, The House, a place filled with chests of valuable loot."
"What the **** do you want!", Jodi yelled.
"My motives are my own", the voice responded. "But that is not important. What is important is that you understand the rules of this place."
     Everyone appeared worried or scared.
"You all are in groups of two." The voice continued.
The voice began to name all of them.
"Dallas and Lexie, Caleb and Kelsey, Levi and Keara, Ian and Mikayla, Brandon and Jaden, Solomon and Jodi, Miranda and Daisy, Sebastion and O'Dalis, Kevin and Emily, Mayson and her boyfriend Mason, Alexis and Jeannie, KJ and Cayson...."
They all stood in silence. He knew all of their names.
"These pairs are your teams, districts shall we call it?" The voice continued. "You have 10 days to your discretion. However, if by the end of the 10th day, more than one district is left standing...."
     Everyone stood in fear
     "....everyone will die."
They all began to look at one another. A few had siblings split into another group, and all knew each ither very well.
"To ensure that you survive, you must kill the rest."
Mikayla felt so scared she could barely stand.
"Please, wait for the horn to sound before stepping off your podiums. Good luck."
With that, the voice left, and everyone stood in silence for what felt like eternity.
Eventually, Jodi began to walk off the podium
"This guy's just bluffing", Jodi said. It's not like we'll explode if we-"
     BOOM!
Jodi exploded, and nothing was left of him. Everyone screamed at the sight and sound of it.
This was when it sunk in.
     This was real.
     Eventually, the horn finally sounded....
     And the games began.
