Third Person POV
Nate wakes up in pain. He had scratched his arm on a tree earlier, not thinking anything of it. However, it was throbbing and his veins were bright red, showing through his skin. He groaned in agony, holding where his cut was.
Tubbo woke up when he heard the pained sounds of the singer and looked over. When he noticed what was happening he sprung into action, grabbing his bag and running over to the man. Tubbo dug through the bag, looking for his medical supplies.
"Tubbo, Tubbo, stop. Don't worry about me. It's been spreading all night. Look." Nate said, pulling off his shirt to show Tubbo that the veins could be seen all over his chest, already near his heart. "The medicine won't help me now. I should have caught it sooner." He smiled softly.
"No no! I have to try! What if it works? What if you were meant to be the one to get out of here?" Toby pleaded. He dug more through his bag, finally finding the medicine and pulling it out. "I won't use much. I swear, just let me try!"
"Tubbo… it's no use. Save it for someone who isn't already dead." Nate said. He was right, and Tubbo knew. Toby hesitantly put the medicine back in his bag. "Tubbo, I want you to have my katana. Please. You'll need a weapon to keep yourself safe." He coughed in the middle of his sentence, he could feel the end nearing.
Tubbo took Nate's hand in his own, wanting to comfort the dying man. Nate smiled for a second before it faded, and his eyes glazed over. Nate's hand went limp in Tubbo's as the teenager cried. He knew Nate was gone. He knew there was nothing he could have done. And he knew he would lose more people this way.
Toby's crying woke up Matt and Mark. Matt stood up, walking slowly over to the younger male who was crunched over his old friend. "Tubbo?" He said softly. When he reached the two and saw Nate's lifeless body laying under Tubbo he knew what had happened, and Mark could tell from afar. They sat there in grief for a few moments.
"Nate's loss may be sad, but we need to get moving guys." Mark said softly, picking up his bow and quiver.
Tubbo slowly lets go of Nate's hand. He reached for the dead man's katana and strapped it to his back along with his bag of miscellaneous supplies. Matt picked up his dagger, checking if it was sharp then placing it in his small hilt.
The men left the cave with Nate's body lying there. Mark had a plan while the other two were still mourning over the loss of their friend. Mark leads them in the direction of two people that could be useful to him, or at least change the game for them all.
The wooded area was dense. The three of them had to cut their way through bushes and trees just so they could see where they were going. Mark was good at directions, even in the middle of a seemingly never ending maze of trees and grass.
When they approached the two other players Mark told Matt and Tubbo to be quiet. Mark slowly revealed himself to two other YouTubers. One was sitting on the ground, munching on a few blueberries he had found, with the approval of the other male. The other was standing, guarding the younger male as he ate. When he heard the noise from the bush he held up his knife and stood in front of the blond boy.
"Tommy, put those away, quickly." The tall brunette said.
"But Will! I'm so hungry, could I please just eat them?" Tommy whined. He hasn't eaten in a day or two, which was a long time for the boy.
"Tommy, I'm not arguing with you right now!"
Mark stepped from the bush with his hands up in surrender. "I won't hurt you! I'm with two others, one you might recognize." He said, then gestured for the other two to come out.
