Hey! =) So this is my first story on wattpad! It being so, I would prefer that no one steals my work. I like many of the other amazing authors have written this to share with you. It would be in your best interest not to copy this particular story, considering that I have a very scary friend who will hunt you down! (seriously she scares me...) With that being said, LET THE STORY COMMENCE!!
-----------------------------------------
The rain fell endlessly around me.
My little blue umbrella was the only thing that kept me dry on my way home from school. I had decided to take the long way home through the woods, knowing that it would rain.
I liked the woods best when it rained, something about it make it seem so peaceful. The trees looked more alive when they were wet from the rain. The leaves seemed to stand out boldly against the dark browns and grays of the wet bark. To me at least the trees seemed more alive. When it was sunny out, they seemed duller against the bright sky and shining sun.
I made my way along the path, listening to the sound of rain hitting the trees and ground. I wanted to stay here forever, it was far better than home. Home was were my adoptive parents despised me. Wanting nothing more than to kick me out to the curb. The only thing stopping them was the law.
I wasn't even sure why they took me in the first place, rather than letting me go to a foster home. We had an unspoken agreement that when I turned 18 I would leave and never come back.
All of a sudden my vision went black. I couldn't see a thing. Flashing from the darkness was a beautiful golden tree that was blindingly bright. Then as quick as it came my eyesight was restored and I was brought back to the woods. I blinked a few times, mostly to check to make sure I could actually see again. A sudden longing rose up inside of me, I needed to go to that tree. But how? I had no idea where it was.
It was then that my feet began to move on their own. I dropped my umbrella and shrugged my school bag off my shoulders, throwing it on the ground as my feet continued to carry me forward.
Now free from my constraints I started to run, not really knowing where. My thoughts were consumed with the tree, its image burned into my mind. My sense of time was lost and my surroundings blurred together. I couldn't be sure if it was still raining or not. My feet never slowed, if anything they moved faster. I began to feel that if I didn't stop soon, I might tear myself apart. Never before had I run so fast, so far, for so long.
I felt myself slow down as I approached a clearing up a head. My heart beat loudly in my chest, my lungs screamed for air as I slowed to a walk.
Then I looked up and saw it, the golden tree. Sitting on a small grassy island that was surrounded by a crystal blue lake. Sets of stones rose from the still surface of the lake, fiery torches lighting the way. It was a path that lead straight towards the island where the tree resided.
Before I realized it, I was already half way across the lake. It scarred me how little control I had over my body, but as I stepped on the island, all I felt was relief.
I walked towards the tree and was just about to touch it when reality hit me. A sudden wave of fatigue washed over me as I crumpled to the ground . My vision became blurry and covered with dark spots as I stared at the ground until the darkness overcame me.
