Ok, So I fixed the weird things with the chapters being out of order and kinda added and edited this chapter so its a bit different than before... Its pretty much the same but is does have a few changes. That's about it, thanks for reading! =)
It took some time for my eyes to adjust to the brightly lit room. What I saw next was unimaginable. Along with me in the room was a huge white wolf.
It had already noticed my presence and was now staring at me with big ice blue eyes. It stood up, standing at half my height, but most likely weighed a lot more than I did.
Do wolves have white fur? I thought they only had grey and brown fur? Is it some kind of arctic cross breed? Maybe it's half polar bear. That would be cool. Polar bears are awesome. Penguins are even more awesome. What is better than a penguin. Nothing. Well, maybe a unicorn. My thoughts started to ramble on, proving that I was scared.
The wolf started to walk towards me, slowly as though it was inspecting me. Probably checking to see if I'm edible. As it got closer I backed up into the door. My hand felt around for the door knob while I kept watching the wolf, making sure it didn't try to eat me. Where did that door nob go? I should have found it by now, door handles can't move on their own!
The wolf was closing in on me now and my thoughts turned more along the lines of "Oh crap, Oh Crap, Oh Crap", and "Why did I go into the room with the hungry wolf!"
The wolf looked at me with it's big blue eyes. I shuddered, it was as if they were looking into my soul. It's gaze still on me, as it continued to slowly come towards me. However, to my great surprise, instead of lunging and attacking me, or bearing its fangs. It came right up to me and sat down.
I breathed a sigh of relief, It wasn't going to eat me, I would live to see another day.
I hadn't realized how scared I was until I looked down at my hands, only to see them shaking. My knees buckled underneath me and I slid down to the floor.
Well that was an experience. I took a few deep breaths, and turned my attention back on to the wolf who was sitting across from me only a few feet away. I starred at it as I tried to quiet my heart beat. For some reason, the wolf looked as though it wanted to have a conversation, but that was probably me being delusional because wolves can't talk.
That is some what correct, as wolves can not communicate like you humans do.
See? I'm just having a really weird hallucination. Maybe they gave me weird medicine when I was sleeping. That would definitely explain what was going on. There might not even be a wolf in this room at all!? Ok get your head together Luce. you are not talking to a wolf, you're talking to yourself. You are most likely going insane because of the concussion or strange drugs. That is all. There is no wolf with freaky mind powers
I was still looking at the wolf when I saw it huff, right after the voice from my hallucination said, I can communicate with you through a mind link, though it is curious because humans normally are not able to communicate this. So no, you aren't having a hallucination.
What?
It's really quite funny how humans think their insane when something they consider out of the ordinary happens. The voice that belonged to the supposed talking wolf that doesn't exist said with a laughing tone.
My name is Caerwyn, please refrain from calling me 'the talking wolf'.
Ahh, so this is what insanity feels like, I must have hurt my head harder than I thought.
I can assure you that you are sane.
Well, how am I supposed to believe that the talking wolf named Caerwyn was telling the truth? For all I know I could be having a very believable hallucination right now?
I shall do something to prove it to you then. What will make you believe that I speak the truth?
As soon as he said that, a funny thought occurred to me and I began to imagine him chasing his tail and then rolling around on the the floor.
Realy? You pick that? Ugh, fine if I must.
The large wolf stood up, glared at me, and walked to the center of the room. It looked back at me as if very annoyed and began to chase it's tail. After a few spins, it began to roll on the floor.
Oh my cheese doodles! I'm in the presence of a magic talking wolf!
So now you believe me, once I have lost my dignity. Humans. The wolf seemed to huff when it said that last part.
The newly established real wolf came back to his original sitting position, looking slightly annoyed.
"So um, now that we have established that I'm not insane and you're really a talking magical wolf . Why are you here, in this room exactly?" I spoke aloud to him, getting tired of just speaking in my head.
Well-
Caerwyn was cut off by loud noises coming from the hallway. I quickly moved away from my spot at the door.
I strangely familiar voice yelled, "We need to find that girl, search every room!"
I felt like cowering in a corner.
I assume they are looking for you.
I ran behind him and nodded my head, not wanting to be found.
Well seeing how you are the only human here that can communicate with me, I shall protect you. Caerwyn said as he moved to stand protectively in front of me.
I relaxed slightly. I was glad he was here, it was like I had a friend in this weird foreign place.
I shall gladly be your friend little human. Caerwyn said quietly in my head.
"My name is Lucelia, by the way." I said realizing I never told him my name.
I still prefer little human. Caerwyn said, laughing in my head.
The door was suddenly jerked open by a man who seemed to be a guard. "I found her!" he yelled to his comrades, "but there might be a small problem." He stated as he noticed Caerwyn's growling form.
We were caught at a stalemate, neither the numerous guards, nor Caerwyn moved. It would have been silent if Caerwyn stopped his constant growling.
Disrupting the stand still came a sudden alarm, prompting most of the guards to run away, a few barking orders.
Someone came up from behind the remaining men and ordered them to leave, saying he would take care of this situation. He turned to Caerwyn and I. "Alright, we don't have much time, that alarm was for when we have an emergency attack. As a noncombatant , we need to get you to a safer place." he said urgently.
His voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't place it. Why were all of these voices so familiar?
Take advantage of this situation, you have more power here. Caerwyn's voice sounded in my head.
How was I supposed to do that? Then a genus idea popped into my head.
I promptly sat down, crisscross applesauce style and reached into my pockets, pulling out my other bag of cheese doodles. I opened them up and began to eat obnoxiously.
"What if I want to stay? I like it here." I said to the man while munching on a doodle.
The man looked anxious. For a second he seemed lost, not knowing what to do. He glanced down at my cheese doodles and said,"Ok, I'll give you a bag of cheese doodles if you come with me."
I paused and looked up at the ceiling, as though I was deep in thought. " Fine, I'll agree if you let me bring him with me" I said pointing to Caerwyn, " And I have questions I want answers to."
"All right fine, but we need to go now." the guard said moving into the hallway.
How was that? I asked Caerwyn in my head. I was pretty proud of myself.
Not the way I would have done it, but I guess it works. Caerwyn stated looking up at me.
I glanced back down at Caerwyn, and we began to follow the man who promised me cheese doodles.
