As the metal scolded me, I got it open and hopped inside. I gripped onto the ladder as I pulled the hatch shut and locked it. I climbed down the ladder in total darkness, my hands sweaty, loosening my grip on the ladder. I went down slowly, trying to be as careful as possible. As I continued climbing down the ladder I had felt something under my foot, I had reached the bottom. I felt the walls and walked along them, trying to find the door. The walls were rough as they were bricked up, so I knew to feel for a cold metal door. As I continued to blindly find the door I had reached an area that felt particularly cold. I reached out and felt the cold door at my fingertips. I began feeling for the handle and pulling the door until it finally shifted. As I pulled more and more a breeze of cool air hit my face, temporarily cooling my body from the heat trapped in the room. As I continued to feel the wall making my way in I heard a bang. It was the missile. It must've just hit the water. I felt the ground and walls shake around me, I lost my balance and hit my head on the wall as I made my way to the ground. I could feel the ground shaking and my head pounding hard. I felt the back of my head to feel where I hit it. I felt something warm and wet, on my neck, I followed it up until I winced at the pain I felt from touching my head. I was bleeding, I knew I needed to get up so I could bandage it but if I got up I would just fall back down again. It was dark, the entire structure was shaking all around me and I was bleeding. I got up slowly balancing myself on the wall when the shaking stopped. I wobbled over inside, balancing my weight on the wall beside me, still holding my head trying to keep the blood inside. I remembered I put up a shelf on the left side and had placed things on it, one of those items being a flashlight. As I felt the wall going left, I felt something touch my chest. The shelf. I put my hand out to feel the cylinder object but it was empty, I followed the edge of the shelf but it was empty. The quaking from the missile must've shook everything off of the shelf. I quickly got on my knees and released my head to find it. I felt the ground trying to feel for the flashlight. My head still pounding, the blood rushing down my neck, soaking my shirt. I can feel it trickle down my back along my spine as I blindly search for the flashlight. I keep searching the empty ground until my knee hits something. I can hear it rolling. I crawl in the direction of the rolling, mopping the dusty floor with my hands until I finally feel it. I turn it on and I can finally see. There's only one problem.. This wasn't my bunker.
