The woods

"MIYA," I screamed at her,"don't you ever do that again, and don't leave your post especially after firing a gun shot!" I was so panicked and angry I almost hit her, again. She recovered from the blow that I was happy I inflicted on her and placed her hand on my mouth again.

"Captain please be quiet," she whispered but her voice sounded hoarse.

"Why," I asked removing her hand from my mouth looking perplexed.

"We need to go inside right now or-" she stopped mid sentence and stared past my face into the dark forest. I turned to see what it was, pointing my flashlight right at what she was gawking at and felt my heart plummet to the pit of my stomach. I was staring into the black orbs of a tall creature standing behind one of the trees. My eyes widened in horror at the sight of it walking toward us, wait it was limping, the noise we heard was the sound of Miya's gun shooting at this thing.
