"It came from outside",Jacobs said. I told them to stay quiet while I went outside to see what it was. I went a few feet away from the door... nothing. It all seemed fine, the dead trees, grass and the old brown broken down house. I turned to go back but remembered something, Miya, she was supposed to be watching out for danger on the roof but she wasn't there. I turned around to look for her but couldn't see her. I went out a few more feet to stand at the edge of where the forest began, I never liked going into the forest when I was younger because I always thought some cold hand would grab me and pull me under. I saw nothing but the dark outlines of the trees, I put one foot into the forest and heard something push on my foot. It wasn't a rock though, they were much sharper but this was smooth, I picked it up, it was cold in my hand and smooth. I got my flashlight out and looked more closely at it, it was a locket, a locket that belonged to the missing girl. I was about to scream for her, but something cold covered my mouth, before I could do anything I threw my elbow back hitting whatever it was in the gut. I heard a mangled scream and suddenly new what it was, who it was. I swirled around to see Miya standing there, leaning a little clutching her stomach from the sharp pain.
