Sitting on the bathroom floor wrapped in my blue fuzzy towel, I relive the events of last night. The girl the fire the smoke burning my lungs, but the A on the tree is burned into my mind as it was the trunk of the maple.

I run to my room throw on a shirt and track pants I hurry down the stairs to find Ella watching the news, Ella has never watched the news in her life, must be important.

I sit down across from her and watch in horror and the pictures of the burned school dance across the screen, mocking me with every new image.

"The rest of the year is cancelled until the school is fixed" Ella stands leaving for the kitchen searching for a bottle and then slams her door as she goes into her room. Unable to stand seeing the damage any longer I crush the power button with my thumb and run for my room tears streaming down my face. I'm a murderer .

As the door shuts behind me, the world disappears. I'm laying down on long green grass. The oak tree above me isn't an oak tree, it's covered in bright red apples. I look at my swing that has only ever inhabited me, that is now supporting the seemingly weightless little blonde girl.

She has her back to me and is humming to herself. I know that song, but I'm not sure where from. As I sit up I look across the burning field that was once beautiful and full of life, I gasp as smoke fills my lungs and find the little girl is gone from the swing, it slowly rocking from her presence.

No this can't happen. How is this possible? I stand up, the fire is spreading quickly. The only thing I can think to do is climb the large apple tree and hope reality consumes me before the fire. Branch by branch I climb the tree, shaking the entire way up. When I can't climb any higher I look down at the field below. Another letter. The fire is burning a letter in the field but this time its not an A, its an M.

M? Why M? When the M is complete the fire burns out leaving a black charred path in the wheat. I climb down the tree onto the small patch of green grass around it. I stare at the field, a place I have never explored because there was nothing there. Now there is and its horrifying.

I step into the field and it vanishes, being replaced by a bright flash of reality. My eyes fly open, my lungs gasping for air. I sit up on my bed searching my room, but there's nothing out of place. Only a simple red birthday candle in the shape of an A burning on my dresser. Taking my time I reach the candle and blow out the flame, the candle disappearing with the smoke it left. Looking up at myself in the mirror I have black smeared all over me from the fire that burned though my mind. What's happening to me?
