Bio: Devlin was born to legendary boxing prize fighter, "Battlin'" Jackson Rose, a fighting hero in a small part of Manhattan, and his wife Valerie. They were a happy family with their regular everyday struggles. They always pushed each other to do better and never stopped fighting. However, the boxing champ's greatest, and worst fight, came outside the ring when he became an advocate moving against The Kingpin's involvement with not only the boxing industry, but in the harm he was bringing to his hometown neighborhood of Clinton, or better known as Hell's Kitchen.

One of the crime bosses under The Kingpin tried to get Jack to stop and throw a championship fight to prove his loyalty, but Jack wouldn't back down, and wouldn't let his family down either.

The Rose family was supposed to be protected by the NYPD, but the Kingpin's inside connections compromised that protection and allowed for a mysterious home invasion that resulted in the death of Devlin's parents.

As for the poor boy himself, he survived the assassination, but suffered an attack that severely damaged his retinas. Thus, leaving him permanently blind.

Feeling for the poor boy and guilt stricken from his failure to protect the family, police lieutenant George Stacy, who was also the head of the Organized Crime Division, took Devlin in with his family and they welcomed him as one of their own; especially the daughter Gwen.

Devlin learned to adapt to his new life with the help of his new family, as well as cope with the loss of his parents. The love and support they had for Devlin helped push him to become stronger. George and his family even helped to enforce what Devlin's parents wanted for him, to never stop fighting and to keep hitting the books to become someone even better, someone who could be anything they wanted to be and do something for the better of others.

Eventually, Wilson Fisk was exposed as the Kingpin of crime and put behind bars where he belongs. This especially helped Devlin to cope with his family's loss and feel more at ease with moving on.

Devlin grew up alongside Gwen, being the same age as her and therefore having bonded perfectly as brother and sister; always being there for one another. They went to school together, they learned to fight together; and when they came of age, they both entered the same college together, gunning for the same career goals. Since Devlin's blindness would prevent him from becoming a scientist or doctor or cop, he decided to strive for being a defense attorney that could help real innocent and good natured people. Although not restricted in any way, Gwen decided against being a scientist of any kind and since her father didn't want her to be a cop, followed in Devlin's footsteps. Together, they would help the people of New York in ways many would not and make their families proud.

Oh, and there's one other thing to be known about Devlin Rose:

Not long after his arrival at the Stacy household, his new sister, Gwen, being the genius that she is, concocted an experimental eyedrop with a radioactive chemical she thought could return Devlin's eyesight. It didn't quite workout that way, but she did give him something....
