(A/N: First off, I deeply apologize for how long it's been. It really is embarrassing for me. I can't promise updates will be more frequent, but I can promise I will not abandon this story until it's finished, regardless of how long it takes. Also, I realized I never gave Owlsley a face claim, which is ok because I am giving him one here; and speaking of face claims, Devlin has a new one as well. If y'all remember his original one then you know why; if not, then don't worry about it. Take a quick peak into the bio to see his new look and enjoy the chapter!)
Captain George Stacy entered the precinct the next morning to receive many accommodations for his close encounter with the Rhino last night. After the many handshakes and pats on the shoulder, he's finally met by Yuri on his way to his office.
"Hey, Boss, how you holdin' up?"
"Alright, any good news?"
"Well, for one, Mahoney's back, and he's in your office," she informs and he peaks toward his office, seeing the police sergeant sitting in front of his desk.
"It's about time," he smiles, "but anything regarding last night?"
"I couldn't find anything on that new gal that killed Rhino."
"Neither could I," Stacy groaned. "I sacrificed three whole hours of sleep over nothing tryna find anything I could on her."
"But I did get in touch with an F.B.I. buddy and he may have given us a possible lead on Quesada's killer," she reveals, capturing her superior officer's attention.
"Let's hear it."
"Now, keep in mind, he didn't have much to forward us to begin with," she informs while grabbing the thin case file sent over, "but he said the nature of the killing matches that of a Black Market hit man they've been searching for a long time; no real name or trace of his true identity, only his alias: Bullseye."
"Bullseye?" He asked with a weird look, examining the case file. "Sounds like a cartoon character I used to watch."
"Yea, well, as cheesy as the name sounds, there's a perfect reason why he's called that," Yuri continues to inform. "Apparently, he can take any inanimate object to his disposal and use it as a weapon, nailing his target with perfect precision."
George glances up at her as that sounds exactly like the guy who killed Quesada.
"From what he told me, he's the best assassin in the world right now," Yuri adds.
George takes in a sharp breath through the nose, starting to feel the weight of this whole new situation they are in. The words spoken to him by Daredevil about Rhino having been sent by the Kingpin only add to the weight. Even after all he went through to bring Wilson Fisk to justice, he's still having to fight this long and tediously lingering battle against him; and it only seems to be getting worse. He lets out an uneasy sigh while processing this, handing the case file back to Yuri before thanking her for the work. He instructs her to keep him updated on everything she finds before moving to his office. He needs to talk this out with his good friend.
"George!" Greets Sergeant Brett Mahoney, Captain Stacy's longtime colleague and best friend.
He rises from his chair and shares a handshake with the police captain.
"Hey, Brett, how was Hawaii?"
"Beautiful. Me and the wife both were tempted to never return," he jokes and they both laugh.
"Amen, brother," George replies as their hands separate and he moves lean on his desk.
"But didn't I ask you to watch yourself in my absence?" Brett asked while returning to his seat. "I mean, I'm gone for a week, and you almost get killed at the last minute before I make it back?" George just laughs before he continues. "So, what's all this I'm hearin' about your encounter with the Rhino last night?"
