"That was so freaking good." Jungkook wiped his hands on the napkin, Juliet finished eating too. "Thank you so much."
"Oh it's no problem." Juliet smiled, the two of them sat in a private room in the bakery, their sandwiches gone. "Nani made them. She wouldn't let me help."
"How old is she?" Jungkook chuckled, remembering the girl from earlier. "She's very, energetic."
"Sixteen." Juliet nodded, trying to hide her smile, failing. "She's a wild child for sure. I've had to stop her from jumping a guy that yelled at me and she's caused some police to show up at the bakery." Juliet smiled wider as Jungkook laughed, clapping his hands. "Good thing I'm friends with the police, they understood."
"Wow," He tilted his head. "We all need a Nani in our lives."
"Yes we do." Juliet giggled, finally standing up. "She's cute."
Jungkook stretched his arms over his head, trying to see if she would look at the part of his stomach that was exposed while he did so. She didn't, much to his disappointment. Lunch was full of tension between them. It was so freaking obvious they liked each other, but both sides were too nervous to say anything about it.
Well, Jungkook was done playing the waiting game.
"So when are you two going to make it official?" Namjoon asked Jungkook, the two of them typing away on their computers.
"Juliet?" Jungkook asked, glancing at his phone.
"Yeah," Namjoon nodded. "I checked on you last night because you didn't say goodnight, and you were both asleep together."
"That was an accident." Jungkook clarified. "I fell asleep before I could wake her up."
"Okay but still," Namjoon looked up from his computer. "We could hear you guys laughing and talking last night. You seem really happy Jungkook."
Jungkook stared at him, smiling softly. "I am. She makes everything seem okay." Jungkook nodded, repeating his words, making sure they sounded right. "I really like her."
"Then ask her out!" Namjoon smiled widely. "You deserve this Jungkook."
"Deserve a girl?" Jungkook went back to typing, knowing she's more than just a girl.
"You deserve the happiness." Namjoon folded his hands, staring at Jungkook, noticing that Jungkook had stopped typing. "Jia and I are so happy. You get to do the dates, the cuddling, the texts. You get to have your best friend who loves you so much. She's always there for me and always there to laugh or cry with me. Having a girlfriend changes everything. She makes me happy." Namjoon took a breath, Jungkook listening carefully. "And if Juliet is already making you smile more, I think you should seriously go for it."
"I should." Jungkook sat up a little straighter, Namjoon nodding encouragingly. "I should!"
"Hey, Valentine's Day is in a few days." Namjoon smiled, going back to his computer work. "You could ask her to be your girlfriend then."
"And until then?"
"Ask her out on a date."
'I'm gonna do it.' Jungkook rubbed his hands on his thighs, Juliet putting on some chapstick. 'I'm going to ask her out.'
"But maybe we-"
"I like your eyes." Jungkook blurted out, Juliet turning around to see him right behind her.
Juliet smiled softly, Jungkook smiling as well. "I like your smile." Juliet patted his cheek, knowing they were close enough to do so. "It's cute."
Jungkook held her hand against his face, staring at her eyes, hoping the mood was getting to where he wanted it to be. Their bodies were almost touching, closer now than they were on his bed earlier. Jungkook imagined what her heart sounded like, how fast it was going, if she was nervous or not.
