Regulus ignored the shake in his hands when he began walking to the potions classroom. It was almost always open to the students.
He had left a good amount earlier than he needed to, but he couldn't distract himself for any longer. He might get to make up with his brother.
Regulus stepped into the potions classroom, relieved that it was empty. He walked towards the closet of ingredients. He began to look through the shelves. He might as well make about one glass bottle worth of a antiseptic potion. He was running out. He was always safe about cutting.
He begun to make the potion, humming a tune Sirius used to play.
He was almost finished when he heard laugher in the hall way. He tense, but he quickly tried to finish up the potion before he was able to pour it he heard the laugher stop.
"Oh." Regulus hesitantly turned around, but didn't meet Sirius' eyes.
"Uh, hi Sirius," Regulus practically whispered. Regulus met his eyes momentarily before looking back at the floor.
"Remus, can we make it another time?" Sirius whispered, not quiet enough, to Remus. Remus just shook his head.
"You know how long those potion take to make if we don't start now half are plans are going to get trashed." Sirius tensed after Remus stopped talking.
"Hello, Regulus," Sirius muttered back. They began to make their way to the cabinet.
Regulus turned back to his potion. It looked done; he just need to test it really quick. He made a small cut on his finger with the knife. That knife definitely isn't clean. Let's hope this is correct. He used a pipet to get some of the potion, and he dropped some onto the cut. He grimaced by the sting, but it worked. Just as he went to pour the potion into a bottle, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He jumped slightly, but when he looked back, he saw Sirius standing there. He was rocking his weight between his heel and his toes, something he only did when he was nervous.
"Uh, hey, Reggie, I miss you, a lot actually. Remus just convinced me to come over here and say something, uh, so, yeah." Sirius stared at the floor. Regulus was nervous, maybe this is actually just a stupid prank.
"Oh, um, thanks for, you know, telling me. I, uh, I really miss you too, I think." Regulus hated the fact that he was rambling, sort of. He hated even more the fact that Sirius' face didn't change when he said that. Regulus begun to turn around, of course this wouldn't change anything.
"Wait!" Regulus jumped slightly, "Would you like to, uh, help us with this potion?" Sirius looked almost shy as he asked.
"Oh, uh, yeah, I'd like that." Regulus smiled which Sirius returned.
"Okay, um, Moony! Reg's helping!" They got a thumbs up out of the closet area.
"Hurry, idiots, I need help!" Remus yelled from the closet. They both rushed to the closet."Okay, that's all we can do. Now, it just has to sit for twenty-four hours," Remus explain.
"Okay, Moony, hey Reg," Sirius turned to him, "Would you want to come back to the Gryffindor common room for a little bit?" Regulus' heart soared.
"Oh, sure!" Regulus gave them a smile before remembering his own potion. "Let me just take my potion back to my room."
He begun bottling the potion when he heard Remus speak up.
"What's the potion for?" It was an innocent enough question, but it made Regulus tense.
"It's a healing potion, you know, just incase," Regulus hoped they wouldn't ask anymore questions.
"Incase of what?" Sirius questioned. Regulus corked the potion.
"Just being cautious, I'll be back in a few," he stated before speed walking down the corridor. He wanted to get back as soon as possible. He's actually talking to his brother again.
