"I will never forget those days~ Thanks to you, Eunkang, I proposed to the love of my life like this."
"Honestly, I did nothing. It was you, Won." She spoke into the ether, staring out into the luminous night, with the presence of sadness upon her visage.
"But, I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for you."
And suddenly, silence had enraptured both of them as they sat on their favorite childhood spot, reminiscing on all the fond memories of their past.
"Kang, are you okay? Do you want to tell me something?"
"Man, you're acting as if it's like I've been trying to tell you something for years. I'm okay, Jungwon, I really am." She snickered, tilting her pate back whilst her eyelids pulped over her glossy oceans.
Just as his lips gaped to say anything more, his phone began to ring next to him, his screen lighting up with his wife's caller ID displayed upon it. Curling his fingertips around the device, he hesitated, his peer falling above the lit screen.
"You should go, seems like Hari needs you." Eunkang pointed out, a scant smile appearing against her lips.
"Sorry, she wants to plan out the nursery room for-"
"Jungwon. You don't need to explain it to me, just go." Eunkang waved her arm at him. "She needs you more than I do right now."
Getting up to his feet, Eunkang's heart halted for a moment as the pulp of her lips pursed together to form a thin line across her face, her irises following his dimming silhouette into the distance.
Looking back over his shoulder, Jungwon displayed a saddening expression, probably for leaving her behind like this. "Go~" She mouthed, reassuring him that she was alright here.
Alas, as his figure faded away into the depths of the night, Eunkang was left behind under the flickering sparks of the fireworks before all completely stopped - where the luminosity of the joy in her life stopped entirely, leaving her in the midst of darkness.
"You are beginning to seem like a distant spark, Yang Jungwon."
