Buying the beast

Raq had made a big purchase and the joy of sharing it with Shamz (his person) was on peak. He video called her,
Shamz: So, is the beauty home?
Raq: Yes, it is. It feels a sense of accomplishment doing this all on my own and I am happy that all the hardwork has paid off.
Shamz: I know the feeling! When do I get to see it?
Raq: In person, maybe later. But virtually, now!
Raq turned the camera and showed her his new beast and how it functions.
Shamz was super happy to see him happy. She kept on touching wood.
Shamz: Call me, post dinner. We have a moment to celebrate virtually today but physically whenever you come back to the bay.
Raq: Okay I shall! I have to take Aai for a drive, she doesn't understand much about cars but she is happy to see me get what I wanted.
Shamz: We all are happy to see you happy, keeping smiling my love. Bye, I shall be waiting for you to call.
Raq: Is your shoot over?
Shamz: Yeah, just packed up a while back and now I have a meeting, will finish that and go home.
Raq: When will you be done?
Shamz: I will text you, don't worry. Enjoy the drive with the most important person.
She knew how close Raq was to his mom and his experiences as a child made him thicker those bonds, she gave him a flying kiss and then they disconnected the call.

In Mumbai:
Shamz: Chalo Ravi, Bastian jaana hai. Late ho raha hai!
Shamz told her driver to take her to Bastian as she had a meeting with her manager about the projects she was being offered. On reaching Bastian, Nidhi was already there waiting for her, they quickly discussed work and then Shamz went home taking her favourite dessert, Vegan chocolate pull me cake so that she could binge on it post dinner.
On the way, she texted Raq,
Baby, I have finished work for the day, going back home, waiting for you to call me so that we can celebrate.

Meanwhile in Pune:
Raq ran inside his house and called his mom, took her and seated her in the car and then drove off.
Aai: Raqesh, drive slowly.
Raq: Arey Aai, I am not that fast.
They enjoyed their little ride and came back home where Sheetal Tai and Isha were waiting to celebrate the new addition. Isha got a cake and they all cut it together as for Raq it wouldn't have been possible without his ladies. They had a small family moment, followed by dinner.

Everyone was sitting in the living room chattering and watching Tv while Raq wanted to call Shamz as she had been waiting. He tried to get away a few times but someone or the other would stop him. Also, Murphy didn't leave Raq for even a second that day. Raq opened the chat window on his phone and Isha didn't mean to but saw Shamz message, she blurt out the reason for Raq being so restless and wanting to go to his room. Everyone teased him and as his little secret was already out, he quickly ran into his room to call Shamz.
Meanwhile, Shamz was waiting impatiently for Raq's call and she began watching her k- dramas as he hadn't  called  her for long now. She kept looking at her phone screen to see if she received any message from him.
Her phone finally rang and she picked it up within seconds,
Raq: Wow, so quick. Have you been waiting for my call?
Shamz: Aa, yeah. I would be lying if I said I didn't. Baby, one moment, let me pause the series I am watching.
She quickly stopped it and there was silence.
Raq: I can hear you so much better now. Dinner?
Shamz: Kabke Hogaya, aapka hi wait ho raha tha. I would have slept by now if I wasn't waiting for you to call, it's been a long tiring day.
Raq: Awwwww, thank you for being so patient. Koi Mujhe chod hi Nahi raha tha and I didn't want to talk in front of them.
Shamz: Phir kaise call kiya?
Raq: Isha read your message and told everyone, they began teasing me and then I just excused myself and came into my room. Aaj toh Murphy bhi Mujhe chod Nahi raha tha, pata Nahi Kya ho raha tha.
Shamz: Awww, my cutie. I have everything ready, please get yourself a glass and a bottle of any alcohol you would like to have. It can be a any drink if you don't want to have alcohol. Also, look what I just finished!
She showed him the remains of the vegan pull me cake which she had binged on while watching her k-drama and waiting for his call.
Raq: I also want to have that, however I did have a lot of cake today.
Shamz: Mumbai aajao, I will make sure that we eat the pull me cake from Bastian. It's been long now, please go get your bottle and a glass.
Raq: I have wine here, I just have to get a glass.
Shamz: Room main wine kaun rakhta hai?
Raq: Arey no, it was in the bar counter but last time my friends came, we got it here and it is been here since then. Hold on for a second, let me go get a glass.
Raq kept the phone on the table and went out to get a glass, meanwhile Murphy got into his room and seeing him Isha followed. As soon as she entered, she heard Shamz humming,
Isha: Hi Shamita, I can here you but where is  the phone.
Shamz: Oh hi, I can't see you. I think it is on the table.
Isha turned and found the phone on the table, she quickly picked it up.
Isha: Hi, how are you doing?
Shamz: I am good, how are you?
Isha: I am good too. Murphy no!
Shamz: Murphy is the dog, right?
Isha: Yeah, he came into the room and I followed him to get him out but I heard you. So, yeah.
Shamz: How's everyone ?
Isha: All is good, everyone is happy.
Raq quickly came inside with a glass in his hand and saw Isha talk to Shamz.
Isha quickly said bye and gave the phone back to Raq. She picked Murphy up and went out shutting the door behind.
Raq: This one is smart, okay!
Shamz: Haha yeah! She is super cute.
Raq: I agree, I love her. I was the first one to pick her up when she was born.
Shamz: I remember you telling me this. Chalo, my drink is ready! Aapka?
Raq quickly poured a drink for himself and showed it to her.
Shamz clearing her voice:
So here we begin, I have something to say to you,
You are one of the most kind, simple, honest, humble, grounded, under ground sometimes, beautiful, sensible, mature, creative, intelligent guy. There are many more adjectives I could add to that, but today I saw something different or maybe I never saw this side to you. I saw the sense of feeling and cherishing an achievement, the hardwork behind it which paid off, the passion to buy your dream car yet be so simple to take your mom on a drive for the first time in it. You are all heart, my love! I would like to raise this toast to you, this is just you. I love to see the zeal of doing more and doing better, one dream at a time. Cheers to fulfilling and celebrating our dreams 🥂
Raq was speechless to all that she said about him, he just said,
Raq: Cheers!
Taking a sip,
Raq: to many more successes to be celebrated with you even if we aren't together physically. I love you!
He sent her a flying kiss and so did she. They did talk for long time while having their drinks and then Shamz fell asleep while talking to him, he could see his baby sleep.
The next morning, the phone was on and when Raq woke up, he disconnected the call but was happy to have woken up right next to her.
