A Young Wizard's Journey - The Chamber of Secrets

Introduction

Hi all! To our new students, welcome! For our old students, Welcome back! Time for another exciting year at Hogwarts! And this one will bring around the biggest strain Y/N has had yet. From ancient chambers, Polyjuice potion and the dreaded Basilisk. There's a lot that can and will go wrong for our brave Gryffindor. But lets see if he can still keep his head through all of that

As the title implies, this is the second book in the series. If you have not read the first I recommend it. If you really can't be bothered at least go read the introduction so you know what you're in for and how I do what I do.

And a recap for everyone. My stories are long! And only getting longer. I missed out on J.K's original word count by 3k in the last book. This one is 6k over Chamber of Secrets. This is not a short read. For contrast. Book 1 had a shortest chapter of 3.2k words and a longest of 7.3k. Chamber has it's lowest at 4.6k this is also the only chapter that is sub 5k words. It's longest is 8.4k. So consider this your warning. These books are only getting longer and will continue to do so. I already have a 10k+ chapter for Prisoner of Azkaban. If you prefer short reads. This is not the place for you

Also, following some comments on book 1 I have some clarifications to make:

Y/N L/N is your name/last name. That means you pick the character name. Whilst most of you got this there were a select few who didn't and decided to use some rather choice words to call it out. If you haven't read a reader insert fic before then ask me. Don't use poor language because you couldn't figure it out. I'm happy to help, not to be berated

MC is not going to become the next greatest wizard of all time. He will be strong, don't get me wrong. However he will not be some ancient prodigy child. He is simply a talented wizard. I want heritage to play little part in his own abilities. Hence adoption, the rest he's done himself and with the help of McGonagall

I cannot guarantee that MC will remain friends with everyone he is currently friends with. Times will change as will relationships. As things develop and happen he may grow to care for others where he once didn't. And may grow resentment to those he once did. Somethings can be forgiven even if not forgotten. Nothing is concrete, everything can change.

And one big one that I should stress now. Relationship drama..!
Will not be a thing. I don't want to write about arguments or growing tensions. People getting jealous or attempting to block people. I have another story to tell. Whilst romance plays its hand. I want a duo that hits the ground running and battles off anything that gets thrown at them. This means there will be no Ron drama, very little Krum drama and little to no drama of MC looking at or taking interest in other girls. At least for our duo. Harry and Ron may be a different story but I suppose we shall have to wait and see for them

And finally, this is a personal and passion project. Book 1 was finished and most of Book 2 was done before I even started uploading. I was simply told by a friend that I should and see what other people thought. If you don't like my story or how I write please just move on. I don't need to hear about how it let you down or wasn't up to your standard. For those who have enjoyed it I appreciate all of you endlessly. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me
