2-27-2022: The song for this chapter is Just Enough Whiskey by Nightshift. Mostly when they get to the restaurant for lunch, but anyway. This song is amazing, I wish I could explain it haha. The first time I heard the song, I literally froze for a minute and then instantly added it to my "Favorite songs only" Playlist. You guys might like it:) And the cover photo is from when I went to South Carolina last summer, this was really a store there that was really endless haha (also obviously love the ferris wheel in the background too:))

A four hour drive isn't bad when it's just Rylie and I, but it feels like an eternity when Jack and Hadley are there. I had forgotten about how much Hadley can talk. Luckily, she talked enough for Jack, Rylie and I, so we didn't have to contribute too much.

When we finally reach Wrightsville, I'm ready to go to our room for a while and be alone with Rylie. We'd left around 8:00am after dropping Harvey off at my moms.

We'd booked the same hotel that our surf camp had stayed in for our Wrightsville competition, and I was so excited to stay there again. Rylie and I check in first before turning to Hadley and Jack.

"Okay, Jack and I booked a late lunch reservation over at a spot on the strip at 3:30. Want to meet up at 2:45? It shouldn't take too long to get there, but I figure we could walk and get there 10 minutes early." Hadley tells us excitedly, and I hold back my laughter.

"Sure. Meet back here then!" I called before pulling m y bag and Rylie through the closing elevator doors just in time. We get to our room quickly, and I drop my things before falling back onto the bed.

"That girl can talk." Rylie laughs before laying beside me.

"I know! How did I forget about that?"

"At least Jack can put up with it. He must really love her." She giggles.

"Jack is a good guy. I can't imagine ever talking that much around Gabe."

"Aspen."

"What?" I roll my head to the side to find Rylie's blue eyes on mine.

"Don't talk about that dick. We don't talk about dicks in general, but especially that one."

I laugh at her words but quickly stop when she rolls over to straddle me. "Understood." I finally respond in a breathless whisper.

"Good girl." Rylie says. She stares down at me with intensity. "How much time do we have before we have to meet up with them?" She asks, glancing at my lips.

"Enough." I reply before pulling her down to me.

Leaving our room a couple hours later is harder than we thought it would be, but hunger is our motivation. Jack and Hadley are waiting in the lobby when our elevator doors open, and I try to fight my laugh when I see Jack's face.

"Did you have a good nap?" I ask him.

He grins before reaching up to touch his face. "Ah, you spotted my nap lines. Yes, it was a very good nap."

"Those are some lines!" Rylie laughs. Jack was never the type to get upset or embarrassed in situations like this, and he just joins us in our laughter.

"Did your finals go well?" Hadley asks as we begin walking towards the strip. I let Rylie answer first.

"For the most part. I'll get my scores back sometime next week, but I'm not too worried."

"She's smart enough to not have to worry." I joke, taking her hand. "Mine all went well, but I still have a showcase next week for one of my photography classes. I'm not worried though, I had a really good model."
