Striker layed on his bed staring at the ceiling his mind not really thinking about anything, true to his word Lark had kept him alone in his bedroom. Luckily Moxxie's appearance had stopped Lark from beating him again but it was two and a half months since then. If Striker was being honest with himself he was loosing hope, he guessed it served him right why would he expect Blitz and the team to really help him.

Striker sits up his now choppy nearly shoulder length hair puffs around his face. His body was slowly returning to his biological state and he was to say the least completely furious, he had come so far to feel comfortable in his skin. Striker looks at his face in the mirror near the bed side table he looked tired. For the first few weeks he had looked for ways out but there were none, the only way out was in a box to be burried with his family. Striker opens a note book which had a tally he grabs the pencil nearby and counts the crossed tallys before marking a line and circles it displeasure in his eyes. He had lied to Lark and now his contraceptive had officially ran out, he was screwed if Lark got physical with him.

"Shit"

Striker hisses weakly shutting the book and jumps hearing the door open to see Lark enter making him still, Lark stood by the door holding a pear and motions for the maid to enter who held the tray with his breakfast. She walks to the bed and places it down carfully and Striker immediately noticed there was a decent selection of fruit on the tray for once, normally he got toast and that was it. Striker looks to Lark confused who shuts the door once the maid was gone, Lark walks to the chest of draws opposite to the end of the bed holding the pear in front of his chest turning it slowly.

"Is it Striker you prefer?"

Lark asks and Striker looks over him not understanding the calm demeanor or why he cared but didn't want to entice his wrath either.

"It is preferable"

Striker says and Lark nods slowly clearly trying to think on his words carfully.

"I didn't react in the best of ways to... What you told me"

Lark says softly motioning to his stomach and stands up strait and walks around the bed. Striker watches him like a hawk, Striker had fashioned him self a nice little shiv from some metal taken from the bed, it was safely tucked away in the underside of the bed.

"I hurt you and you hurt me in return by maiming yourself, however we are still married, that you can't change"

Lark says stopping by Striker's side of the bed looking him in the eye, Striker was watching him also deciding that if he needed to would he could hit him with the tray.

"I need you to be by my side and you want to run away, so I'm going to make a change"

Lark says stepping closer to the bed so he was looking over Striker with almost soft eyes it was odd to Striker seeing him like this. It took every fiber in Striker's body not to lean away or show fear, he hasn't ever been beaten that bad in a while, it told a very long time to heal from it.

"I want you... To want to stay"

Lark says offering the pear to Striker who looks over the fruit the words confusing him more, he wondered what had got into Lark. Lark nods to the pear with a gentle smile which makes Striker's eyes try to read into Lark's more.

"Take it I know they are your favourite"

Lark says with a tiny curl of his lips no malice behind it at all.

"I like all fruit"

"Yes but you would always have a pear first, every time"

Lark says and Striker nods surprised he even noticed and remembered this detail so he reached up and carfully takes the pear expecting some kind of trick. Lark lets him take it before leaving the room and shutting the door behind him, Striker sat there in silence for a moment in utter confusion looking at the pear before bursting out into laughter in total confusion and nerves.
