It was a hot day out in Georgia, I was sitting in the back of my dad's police car.

No, I wasn't in any trouble, it's for a school project.

We have to spend the day with our parents and write a report on what we did and what we learned. But for me, I've never met my mom.

I live with my dad and we are "happy" I guess you can say.

Today he said we were just supposed to be on patrol over the neighborhood, nothing too dangerous so I can tag alone.

Rick Grimes is his best friend and also his partner. Right now we are eating lunch, all three of us had burgers and fries, I also had a black and white milkshake my favorite.

"What's the difference between Men and Women?" Rick said out of nowhere.

"This a joke?" My dad replied, taking a napkin from Rick.

"No, I'm Serious"

"I never met a woman who knew how to turn off a Light. They're born thinking the switch only goes one way. ON!" My dad murmured taking one of my fires and giving me a wink.

The hell with him, I always turn the lights off!

"They're struck blind the second they leave a room. I mean every woman I ever let have a key, I swear to God," Oh and it's a lot of them, I lost count after the 15th one, " It's like I come home, house all lit up. And my job, you see, apparently because my chromosomes happen to be different. I've then gotta walk through that house, and turn off every single light this chick left on!"

"Is that right?" Rick questions and this time looking at me for confirmation, and that is 150% true, all they do is come here and turn everything on and I'd be damned if one turns off one thing. If so the whole world might end!

"Yeah, baby. Hmm. Oh, reverend Shane is preaching to you now, boy." with that they both laughed, but I don't get it.

"Then, the same chick, mind you, she'll bitch about 'Global Warming', you see, this is – this is when reverend Shane wants to quote from the guy Gospel and say, 'Um Darling, maybe you and every other pair of boobs on this planet just figure out the light switch, you see, goes both ways, maybe we wouldn't have so much Global Warming.' you know?"

"You say that?"

"Hmm yeah, well, a polite version" at this point I don't care about their conversation, I just want to drink my milkshake and start to write down some things for my school project.

They continue to talk but I'm too focused on my shake and paper.

(radio beeps)

"ALL AVAILABLE UNITS, HIGH–SPEED PURSUIT IN PROGRESS LINDEN COUNTY UNITS REQUEST LOCAL ASSISTANCE. HIGHWAY 18 IS EASTBOUND. GTA, ADW 2–17, 2–4–3. ADVISE EXTREME CAUTION."

While the ratio was going off my dad took my milkshake!

"HEY!'

"Not right now pumpkin, I'll buy you a new one but I need you to stay low in the back seat and buckle up, now!" He blurted leaning out the window to throw out the rest of our lunch.

We are now speeding down the roads, this is so much fun! Maybe I'll become a cop also.

"Suspects are two male, Caucasians. Be advised they have fired upon police officers. One Linden County officer is wounded." the ratio said.

"Are you sure she should be here, she can get hurt?" Rick asked but didn't take his eyes off the road.

"I mean I can't just drop her off on the side of the road and tell her to wait, she'll come running after us." My dad said.
