You couldn't help but grin when, as soon as you walked through the front door, you heard the sound of excited and hurried footsteps on the stairs.

They belonged to your son, who was clearly very happy that you were finally home.

He ran to you, greeting you with a hug and a bright smile, which made your heart happy.

"Hi, buddy." You chuckled as you knelt on the floor in front of him and then squeezed him tightly. "How was your day with Jennie?"

"Good!" He excitedly said.

You looked around the room, wondering where Jennie was.

"That's great! Where is Jennie, by the way?"

He held his hand out for you to take and you furrowed your eyebrows but happily took ahold of it, knowing that he had something he wanted you to see.

You stood up and followed him up the stairs and down the hall.

As soon as you turned the corner, you were surprised to see flower petals all over the floor.

They led to yours' and Jennie's room, which is where Joey was excitedly taking you.

He dropped your hand as you entered the room and you were met with Jennie, who stood in the candlelit room.

Her hands were shaking and she almost wanted to cry from the excitement and nervousness that she felt.

"Jennie," you happily spoke as you walked across the room to give her a sweet kiss. "I was wondering where you were. What is all of this for?"

She could tell that you were absolutely mesmerized by the flowers and the candles that were all set up throughout the room, in hopes that it would help to make this moment even more romantic.

"I set it up."

Joey cleared his throat and tugged at the hem of Jennie's shirt, shaking his head when you both looked at him.

"My bad - we set it up. He helped with the flowers." Jennie corrected and you giggled as Joey happily nodded his head.

"Well, it's all very beautiful. But what's the occasion? Please tell me that I didn't forget something."

"You didn't." She assured as she reached out to stroke your cheek. "I just have something to ask you. Something I've been wanting to ask you for a long time."

"Okay. I'm listening."

She took a deep breath before she began the speech she planned out for this moment; one she's dreamt of for so long.

"You know how much I love you?"

You nodded.

"I never thought that I could love anyone as much as I love you and Joey. I never imagined having a family like I have now but it's absolutely amazing. Because you love me for who I am, not for the Jennie that the rest of the world thinks they know. You give me a sense of belonging and a purpose. You both make me the happiest woman in the world and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

Your eyes were full of tears as you began to catch on to what was about to happen.

She got down on one knee and held the ring out in front of you.

"Will you marry me?" She asked.

"Yes!" You excitedly screamed and she slipped the ring on your finger before pulling you in for a sweet kiss.

"Come here, buddy." Jennie grinned as she pulled away from the kiss, opening her arms for Joey to join in on the hug. "He helped me a lot. He helped me pick out the ring and helped me set everything up."

They shared a quick hug and the sight melted your heart.

"I love you." You said and she pecked your lips quickly.

"I love you too." She smiled.

"And I love you." You spoke to Joey, who told you and Jennie that he loves you both as you continued to hug.

And Jennie couldn't help the tears that fell from her eyes.

She was happier than ever and so, so thankful for you and Joey; her little family.

All she wants to do is make you both as happy as you make her every single day.
