Summary: You're tracking the Mandalorian down to prove a bet.

You smirk as you shift the jetpack in your hands. It belonged to the Mandalorian, but a group of raiders stole it from him before they captured and threw him into the cell that you're walking toward. Your face contorts into another smile when you start to hear the subtle clanging of beskar. You're walking toward the Mandalorian and the soles of your boots echo quite obnoxiously throughout the decaying corridor. It's a shrill sound, but one familiar to him.

He knows that someone is coming and he knows that it's you.

A final turn at the bend of the path brings you to the man you've sworn to your pride to kill. As your eyes trail down his figure, you make observations about his state. The shiny new beskar that he had bought just a while ago is strewn in dirt and some slimy alien substance that you can't identify.

"Well, you got here fast."

You raise an eyebrow. The Mandalorian is never one to start conversation. The relationship that the two of you share mainly consists of you antagonizing him to distract him from catching his bounties. It all began with a bet that Greef Karga made. A few days ago, Karga not-so-subtly bet that you aren't skilled enough to track the Mandalorian down.

"First of all, I'm a private investigator, not a bounty hunter," you remember replying with a grumble.

"You're not one to back down from competition. Also I have way too many credits on the line. 6,000 if you want to talk specifics."

"You bet 6,000 credits that I wouldn't be able to track that hunk of beskar down? That's actually insulting, I'll have you know–"

"No, I bet 6,000 credits that you would be able to track him down. If I win, I'll give you half."

At that, your interest peaks.

"Then what does 'track him down' mean specifically? Just following his bounty so I can get to him and then what, take a photo to prove that I met him?"

"Sounds good to me," Karga said with a shrug.

"No," came the resounding voice of a modulator behind you. The Mandalorian's voice had been firm. "You'll just be a nuisance, do not follow my bounty."

"Okay 'Lorian, I am not a nuisance, don't call me that."

"I never said you are, only that you would be a nuisance if you followed my bounties. But now that I think about it, you are."

Promptly, Karga slipped a tracking fob into your hand.

Appalled, you replied, "Kriff, lighten up a little. This man has 6,000 credits on the line."

"Then he'll lose them all. And don't think I didn't see that tracking fob. Don't follow me."

Once the Mandalorian left as swiftly as he had arrived, you asked Karga, "Why is it that he has the most to say when he's complaining about me?"
