Raven's

I remain silent on my way to my room. Gitawag ko ni mama pero wa nako ni lingi.

“Stop it Luke! The doctor already told you nga di pa ka pwede makagawas, maybe tomorrow you could. But not now!” badlong ni mama sa akoa.

I glared at her, “I don't care ma. You just fired her. For what? Huh? You didn't insult her pero sa imong gi buhat, mura na nimog gitamakan iyang rights. She's the mother of my son. She took care of our son alone. At her young age, gidawat niya tanan panghuhusga from the other people. She's the bravest woman I've met, and I love her. Ug wala koy paki alam kung against man ka sa amoa.”

But her face was still serious, “I mean it. I don't want her to work, knowing nga sya ang inahan sa akong apo. I can't settle seeing her inside my company, working? I can't! Thats why I fired her” tubag niya.

I brushed my hair back in frustration, “You just hurt her. She's been wishing to work in a company and have stable job. Ma naman, that was her dream. I can't understand your point. I just can't! Please explain it, why did you do that? Why?!” I'm almost shouting at her but she's still calm.

She sighed softly, “cause I want you to do it for her and for your son. I want you to work for your family. You're the father, ikaw ang haligi ng tahanan Lucas! I know what it felt being single parent. Working so hard for your son's future, it's too tiring and I don't want Raven to experience it. I'm sorry if I sound rude earlier, but all I did is for your family's own good too.” tears starts streaming down her cheeks.

Mama is right. If I marry Raven, it will only means that I'll take the responsibility of a family man.

She doesn't want Raven to work because, it's my responsibility.
