Chapter 8 - bets and bets

Tilli P.O.V

We have been travelling for about 20 minutes and we were just on the outskirts The Shire. Sadly the little hobbit will not be joining us on our journey.

Dwalin - Ill wager someone that Bilbo will not turn up.

Me - You're on my fellow dwarf!

I had a smug smile on my face that most of the dwarfs started giggling at. Dwalin nodded and huffed something to Nori.

Kili - Oh i am so in this, bring it on! Who wants to bet me that he will turn.

Fili - Ill bet ya.

Soon nearly all of the dwarfs bet on each other. What a trend we have made haha.

My elf hearing was picking up something small running towards us. Out of instinct, i flung my left leg over to the other side of my horse and hopped off the horse in style. I stood in battle stance trying to pick up where the sound was coming from. I turns put it was Mr Baggins. My shoulders relaxed at the sight of the hobbit. I quickly got on my horse before anyone noticed i was off. I strode my horse over to Dwalin's.

Me - You better get that money out for me Dwalin.

Dwalin - Maybe take your own advice.

Me - I dont think so because here comes Bilbo right now!

As soon as i said that Bilbo ran up to Balin with deep breaths. Soon there was coins of money being thrown overhead. I giggled as Dwalin handed his bag of money to me with a stern look.

~~an hour or so later~~

Fili was still talking to Bofur about Kili and I so i am going to talk to them about it.

Me - So why are you betting about Kili and I?

Their faces dropped into a fake confused look.

Bofur - Where did you get that idea lass? We have no idea what you are talking about!

Me - Oh well i heard you last night while i was talking to Ori. It sounded like you were yelling in my ear about Kili and i, and also i am not an idiot so why were you betting.

Fili - Fine we will tell you but you have to promise not to tell Kili, alright.

I nodded and waited for them to proceed.
(Whispers)
Bofur - Well when a dwarf finds a girl they find pretty or whatever they never love another. When they know that they love her, other dwarfs that are very close with that certain dwarf will know by the way they look at her. Kili looks at you differently than he does to any other girl. We can all see it, you are his one.

Fili - I know its alot to take in but we know that you love him also. Its the way you look at each other.

Me - Would he know that i have feelings for him?

Fili - Well i think he hopes that you do and he is intelligent so he will figure it out eventually. But if you want we could ask Kili what his feelings are towards you and if he wants you to feel the same.

I nodded and i was about to say something when Bofur interrupted me saying...

Bofur - I propose another bet!! Kili and Tilli will get married befor we get to Erebor. Its only a matter of time!

I laugh and ride my pony up to Balin who was more at the front than Fili and Bofur.

Me - Balin, can i ask you a question, its about Kili?

Balin - Well surely my dear. What seems to be the matter?

Me - Well Bofur and Fili told me that they think that Kili and i are meant to be together because they can see it when we look at each other. Can all dwarfs tell if their family or friend love someone as equally as the other person.

Balin- Well my dear, yes. Any dwarf with a relation to that dwarf knows. Do yiu think that Kili doesnt love you the way you love him?

Me - No i just wanted to know if it is that obvious that everyone in this company knows.

Balin - Kili loves you with everything in his soul, im sure you do aswell!

I nodded. This is going to be a very interesting journey, with the person that i love!
