Not surprisingly, Euphoria was astonished- her jaw dropped larger than a saucepan. She assumed this was some kind of sick joke but as she opened it, it read,"Dear my baby girl,
I have a lot to tell you, but let's start with that fact that I'm not dead. Now you must be very confused, and there isn't a reason why you shouldn't be. Please, meet me at Fayetta Pond, near sunset." (see map above)
Euphoria did not know how to react. She rubbed her eyes and squinted, hoping she could rewind the last minute of her life. Was this fake? Was it real? What did her father, rest his soul, not tell her? She knew something was up, and came to the conclusion she should look for any clues in her father's closet, which he was very secretive about.
Once he did mention some sort of safe, but as soon as Euphoria questioned it, he would abruptly change the topic. As she entered her father's room, a wave of strange emotions hit her. It reminded her of just how much she missed her father. But then again, if this letter was genuine, she could finally have a mother figure, which she missed out on while her father raised her. Her little brain couldn't process it. Although she did try not to get carried away as she looked through her dad's closet, she unintentionally began daydreaming about how she and her so-called mother could do each other's hair, walk together, and how her mother could tuck her into bed.
These thoughts occupied her mind for quite a while, until she found something. A letter. Addressed to her. It had a burgundy seal with her father's stamp on it.
"God, what is it with letters today!" Euphoria muttered to herself, while her bony fingers gently carresed the smooth surface of the fine print paper envelope. In hopes of not to rip anything, she slowly peeled off the wax and skimmed the note,
"Dear my darling, Euphoria,
I always knew that smart little mind of yours would find this letter. If you are reading this right now, it must mean I'm gone."
A waterfall of tears cascaded down Euphoria's cheeks as she remembered how good hearted her father was. She realised she would die just to feel the touch of her father's warm embrace. One. More. Time. She carried on the letter, her questions in hope of finding answers.
"Please, darling do not cry. If you aren't sitting down already, you might want to- what I am about to tell you is a lot. It is true. Not only that, but the following statement is true: You are the blood princess of Gardenia and the Land."
Euphoria's pupils dilated in astonishment. She knew it was true; her father was a man of which a lie never slipped from his mouth. Still, she felt a sharp sting in her heart, which felt like a thousand knives had just been stabbed into her chest, knives of betrayal. A few minutes later, her face loosened but her eyebrows still remained an inch away from her gawping eyes.
" Your mother, Aethal, is the queen. We fell in love at a very young age, but that long story doesn't concern you. Most likely you have searched through my things because someone has sent you a letter, claiming to be your mother. You were right to search but, if that letter doesn't has a royal turquiose seal, it is from an Outsider. They want to kill you, and your mother, the queen."
Euphoria quietly gasped. What her dad said was true; it was a lot to take in. She felt a soft light against her face- it was sunset. She didn't know what she was going to do however she did know that she was going to catch these 'Outsiders' and... She carried on the letter, her gawping eyes now filled with hate, determination and hope.
" Certainly, you are wondering who and what Outsiders are. They are people from parrallel universes. They are just like us, except with bad intent- they want to dominate this world, thus eliminating the blood royals, making them the most powerful people in the galaxy- having posession of 2 parrallel universes is more dangerous than you think. Off subject, what you need to do is banish these Outsiders by closing the hole in the realm, take that throne and move on. From me."
A pindrop silence could be heard. That was the end of the letter. She could just make out the tiny ink smudges from tearddrop puddles and they weren't hers. Euphoria figured that no-one else knew that the Outsiders were in the realm- she needed to spread the message. Mush Mail office was the place to go.
