Della had walked for quite a while before she had gotten stopped by the bridge man against.
"Well, fancy seeing you here." The man smiled evilly.
"Yeah okay, I believe you knew I was coming here." Della shrugged her shoulders and put her mamaws book in her waistband.
"Okay you caught me, yes I did know you were coming here." He agreed as he got out of the car and stood in front of her.
"Why you after me?" Her voice was shaky while his, his was neutral.
"Oh I'm not after you I'm after that book. It seems that no matter what happens it's always with you." He circled around her making her extremely nervous.
"Why do you want some useless book? Hmm? It's Just a book, nothing good about it nor interesting. So why would a man like you want it?" She turned her head towards the man as he circled around her.
"Same reason you want it dear." He smirked and stood directly in front of her.
"If you know about this book then you must have had some kind of aquatince with my Mamaw." Her eyes wondered to his hands the one held a gun and the other was being held out as if he was waiting for the book."Now this, this is gonna sound awfully stupid of me but..." Della walked over to the bridge less 30ft in front of her.
She held the book off the bridge. "Shoot me and this book goes with me." She looked down at how deep the water was.
"Now I would try to stay away from a bridge because of you but, this time I'm saying adios mucho!" She waved goodbye to the man and jumped off the bridge.
"No!" He yelled and ran towards the bridge.
He began looking for her but never saw her go down the creek.
Soon he saw her running up the creek.
"You little shit!" He ran after her. Only to realize that she was running towards his house.
He sprinted to his car and beat Della to his house with a plan in mind.Della ran to the man's house and knocked on the door hoping the person would have a phone.
"Hello? Is anyone there? I just need to use your phone or something please." The man opened the door and quickly grabbed her. She screamed and kicked but the man never let go.
"This is kidnapping your fucking phyco!" She yelled at the man.
"Oh honey I know." He smiled and shoved her down the stairs that led to his basement.
She fell down each stair causing a loud thump with every stair.
"Asshole!" She cried but the man shut the door not paying attention to her.
She slowly stood up in pain noticing that there were no windows.
"Fuck." She mumbled. She heard a door open and the man walked down to her.
"Now I can keep you here and torture you till give me the book or you could just simply hand it over and I let you go." She shook her head no.
"You aren't getting this damn book." She stared at the man with anger.
He chuckled and pulled out a knife from his waistband.
"Let me guess we're dancing again?" She smiled.
"Yes we are dear."
She took a deep breath and got ready to dodge the knife in his hand.
"I have a knife and you have nothing." She rolled her eyes and chuckled.
"That is not true, see you have something physical where as to I, I have something mentally. I have courage and knowledge." She smiled as she watched the mans grip on the knife tighten.
"Grip that handle even more and it might just break." She laughed and the man growled.
"Lighten up a bit, it's good for the muscles." She added and backed up behind a chair and kicked it towards the man.
He hit the chair causing it to fly across the room.
Della looked around, "well shit." She saw nothing near her that could provide protection.
"Well whatcha gonna do now?" He laughed at her."Well I'm gonna start off by-" she ran towards the man, kicking him in the gut and only getting a small cut from the knife.
"Your just like your mamaw." He murmured as he stood up.
"How do you know my Mamaw?" She questioned.
"So she didn't tell you?" He asked with a wide grin on his face.
Blood was running down her leg from her small cut.
Della gave him a confused look with a little bit of sadness.
"Im her brother." Della's face dropped and she shook her head no over and over.
"That's not possible. She's never had a brother." Her eyes widened and her breathing was faster.
"She does In fact have a brother." He admitted but Della was still denying it.
"If your her brother then how come she never talked about you, how come I've never seen a picture of you, how come you never came around?" She asked so many questions and he planned on awnsering them all."Well you see, I was announced crazy after I left home and got addicted to drugs at the age of 15. They found me and put me in a place for psychopath. Our family threw out every trace of me and they acted as if I was never even apart of the family. That book that you have was a book that my great great great grandparents wrote.
They wrote down every place they went that they found gold at or they found an ancient place. Now give me the book so I can be on my way to getting the gold." He walked over too her and tried taking the book.
"Della I swear to God I will take you with me to get the gold. They put me in a phyco house for a reason." He grabbed Della by the arm and dragged her upstairs.
She fought him but lost that battle.
