(Discontinued) Lane: The Story Of HMS Incomparable.

Where am I?

Inside the bridge of an unknown ship, a young woman lays on the floor sleeping. But this changes shortly...

She slowly open her eyes as she feel the cold metal against her face. She rolls to the side and slowly raise her upper body to a sitting position. She curiously look around the metal room and see alot of different equipment. She stands up and start to wander around the room until she reaches one of the small windows.

It's then she realize she's on a ship in the middle of the ocean! She runs towards the metal door on her left and open it rapidly to gaze at the beautiful wide sea. She then walk around on the deck looking at the massive gun turrets and superstructure. But she also start to wonder about something. Why is there no one else here on the ship? 

She finds a new door and then make her way into the ship and start to explore all the different rooms. But one room caught her attention and when she get closer she realizes it was the commanders room.

She goes in and on a wooden desk she sees a couple papers. She picks one of them up and it seems like some deployment orders. While she reads through it she learns all the information about the ship and that the ship she's on is called "HMS Incomparable". 

???: Incomparable?

The girl says the name out loud because she recognizes the name but doesn't fully know why.

It's then she hear a weird pinging sound in her head. It repeats over and over until she holds her hand against her head to try and stop it. But then a radar image appears in her mind. (We can just pretend she has a radar). 

It shows four dots comming from the north east. So she runs up to the bridge again and looks through one of the binoculars. After a couple minutes she sees two large smoke columms and two smaller ones on the horizon. 

King George V (KGV): We will soon be in visual range of the target. Should we send a radio message?

Warspite: Yes, send a radio message. We need to identify this new target. It just suddenly popped up on the bases radar so we have to invetigate. 

Javelin: I wonder if its an Iron blood ship? They formed the Crimson Axis just two weeks ago afterall. 

Javelin grips her spear tighter. 

Norfolk: I really hope it isnt!  

Norfolk nervously shaking  a little. 

Back to the ship, the girl looks through the binoculars as the smoke columms grow bigger after every second. Until the sound of the radio crackling to life fills the room. She snap her head to the radio waiting for something until she hears a voice. 

???: This is HMS King George V speaking. Identify yourself, unknown vessel. If not we will open fire. 

She dashes to the radio and push down a red button to speak. 

 ???: I hear you. This is... Um... 

She needs to tell her name but she doesnt remember it! But in the corner of her eye she sees the paper from before with the name "Incomparable" on and its then she remembers. Its her name. Incomparable, she is the ship. She turns back to the radio and presses down the button again with determination. 

Incomparable: Im HMS Incomparable of the Royal Navy. Im not hostile so you can freely approach.

KGV: HMS Incomparable!? Ive never heard about a Royal navy ship with that name? 

KGV: She says her name is HMS Incomparable of the Royal navy but ive never heard about one of ours having that name?

KGV turns her head to Warspite with a confused look on her face.

Warspite: Me neither, we'll have to investigate closer. 

KGV: She said we can freely approach without danger so lets hurry. 

Norfolk and Jevelin calms down after hearing its a Royal navy ship but instead they're now curious about who this ship is?

The small task force keeps approaching but when they got closer they see the sheer size of the ship. It's massive! The ship is even longer than KGV or any of her sister ships or any other in the Royal Navy. They look over towards the bridge to see a woman that looks very similiar to Hood waving towards them. They wave back and Javelin smiles towards the stranger which responds with a beautiful smile of her own. Her beautiul hair and gray dress slowly swaying in the wind. 

The group jump of their ships to activate their riggings. The glow of the thousands of wisdom cubes creates an almost magical scenery which supprises Incomparable. 
They then jump up to the ships deck and are met with an supprised face.

Incomparable: H-how did you do that!? 

KGV: What do you mean? Summon our rigging?

Incomparable: Yeah! If that is what its called. 

Incomparable starts to forget her nervousnes and curiosity starts to take over. Even though she just met these new people she still feel like talking to them. The group notice this and Warspite proced to question Incomparable.

Warspite: What are you doing out here? And who are you?

Incomparable: Me? I have no idea how I got here and I just woke up an hour or two ago. And for who I am, Im HMS Incomparable and the only one of my class as for what I know. Im an battlecruiser but as you've noticed, im quite a big one hehe.

Incomparable answers as she scratches her head at the last part. Norfolk and Javelin are supprised at the fact that Incomparable is just an battlecruiser but KGV and Warspite still want more information.  

KGV: Could you please tell us more about your ship, Armament, speed and armor? 

Incomparable: Sure! My main armament consists of six 20-Inch guns and a couple secondaries. My speed is 35 Knots but I guess my armor isnt the best at an 11-Inch belt and an 4-Inch deck. 

Everyone is supprised at these facts. None of them have ever heard of of a ship armed with 20-Inch guns. Theres been some rumors of the Sakura Empire having a ship armed with 18-Inch guns but thats just a rumor. And the fact that her top speed is 35 knots makes everyone question if they misheard something or not. But Javelin and Norfolks question is answered by Incomparables lack of armor. It's even weak compared to other smaller battlecruisers. And not even close to KGVs armor scheme. 

Warspite: Yeah those guns do look like 20-Inches. 

Warspite looks at the gigantic turrets as she talks. 

KGV: Well nonetheless we will have to take you back to base. So please follow us. 

KGV tells Incomparable while starting to walk towards the edge of the ship.

Incomparable: Wait, you havent even told me anything! Nothing about you names nor how to summon my rigging!? 

KGV: my name is King George V and this is Warspite, Javelin and Norfolk. Im sorry if everything feels rushed but we have to get back to base. We have alot to do. So i'll tell you more when we get back to base. So follow me if you want to know.

KGV and the rest of the girls jump of the ship and land on the water with their riggings activated. Incomparable runs up to the bridge to try and move the enourmous ship as the glow of wisdom cubes forming ships shines through the windows. 
Incomparable franticly looks at all the equipment infront of her but doesnt want to press anything in fear of creating a problem. 

Incomparable: Why cant the ship just move!?

Suddenly the ships steam turbines roar to life and the ship starts to accelerate. Incomparable has to grab hold of one of the pannels to not fall over. The ship accelerates until its gotten into a position close to the other ships before slowing down a little. And thus their trip back to the Azur lane main base starts. But unbeknownst to them, 3 ships have closely been observing them without getting detected. 

???: We will have to report to Bismarck about this new threat.

End of the chapter. Im really nervous if this will get any attention and im still very inexperienced in writing these kinds of stories. I've taken alot of inspiration from other authors and how they've writing their stories so im gratefull ive had the time to read them.
