┏━━━━━━━━━┓ May 15𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝙊𝙆𝙔𝙊, 𝙅𝘼𝙋𝘼𝙉 2:30 𝙥.𝙢 ┗━━━━━━━━━┛
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷ "We're backkk!" I heard my husband and my seven year old son say as the front door closed while I was seasoning the steak in the kitchen. It was mid afternoon and I was preparing the food early for dinner tonight.
A smile spread across my face hearing my son Kenji's foot steps run towards the kitchen but stopped once he saw me. He happily hugged the side of body while I asked "How was school", with my hands still rubbing the seasons on the meat.
"It was good because I was the highest on the swings at recess" he replied as he let go of my side with a wide smile on his face showing his cute dimples. He never fails to make me happy anytime he tells me about the fun things he did at school.
"That's awesome give me a high five" Kōtarō said with such excitement in his voice and on his face as Kenji turned around and gave him the biggest high five. "That's great, how about you tell us more after you put your backpack up and switch into comfortable clothes" I said.
Kenji nodded with adding an okay at the end and started walking to his room.
Focusing back on the steak I could feel the heat and presence of Kōtarō behind me, I already knew he was going to hug me from behind like he always does when I'm cooking in the kitchen.
"What's for dinner ?" He asked before kissing my cheek then softly resting his chin on my shoulder and looking over what I'm doing. "Steak with a side of green beans and mac and cheese" I replied with a smile on my face. "Mmhh sounds good, I'm gonna have to grill the steaks right?"
After rinsing my hands from seasoning the meat I turned my neck to look at him, "Of course" I said with a smile on my face and he quickly pecked my lips and step back saying "All right let me get it started" with a huge grin on his face, he left the kitchen but not after squeezing my butt and making his way to the patio.

Music playing in the background with the sound of steak sizzling against the grill with also heating me and Kenji having a fun time watering the garden. As always the weather is just right and life is so amazingly peaceful with the wonderful family that I have.
"The steaks are almost finished" Kōtarō said to the both of us, "Ouuu yes I'm so ready to eat mommy" Kenji said looking up at me lightly jumping up and down. Chuckling at how cute he is I respond, "Me too—how about you help me bring out the rest of the food" He happily agreed while I put back to the hose and went inside the kitchen.
